The same problem is present in the rendering of GTC4Lusso, CaliforniaT, 488 GTB/Spider, LaFerrari/Aperta...

Already months ago I talked about this problem with you here on FerrariChat and sincerely don't understand why Ferrari publish this type of images, when at the same time Ferrari realize a photoshoot true that publish later on The Official Ferrari Magazine. I don't think it's a matter of saving money.

I was told today that the centre bonnet scoop/vent [ hood] is no longer there, and it has two in the bonnet now, similar to the 599.

Much less sharp at back, all below lights is one piece right round sides, slightly "fat"looking.

Front is not "messy" at side, no upward fins, just tow little chin spoilers.

WOW! Well done! I wish I had like 1/100th your talent and ability!

I agree front looks a bit too long and the overhang even looks slightly too long, but again, its really great work and interesting to fantasize about with it might be.

Agreed. They must have their reasons, but for a while now they have done this. I don't think the wheels are too big, I think its just that they show the car sitting lower, and with the wheels further out than the actual car. They are very very intelligent about their marketing, so maybe they think (or know) showing the car this way and then we get the pictures of the actual car from Geneva only boosts interest. I don't understand it myself, just taking a guess.

I share your skepticism because the images show a Pininfarina badge and we all know it will not have one.

The F12b really is. They did a great job. I can't wait to see how this one turns out. I don't think we will be disappointed!

I was at Maranello last week and i don't believe too many will be disappointed come the Geneve launch - design and spec both as good as most were expecting. It was also a relief to note that the wheels haven't grown in size (such is the fashion with cartoonish hotwheels type alloys) and there is decent tyre sidewall to keep the ride compliant. What a machine this is, quite stunning).

Wow, the hype is strong in you. Like 200 posts in a couple of days.

My speculation on the name, as Crinoid suggested, it has to do something with the preview and its "Shift to the 12th dimension". I bet a '12' will be present in the name, and what about a 'D' of some sort... ¿even for Daytona? I sistematically discarded it in past models before (remember, every new FR model was going to be Daytona), but with the comeback of the Lusso, makes some sense. However it has to be something more complicated, clever and less obvious than simply "F12 Daytona".

As for the design, our lucky previewers and Ingegnere have to be 95% spot on. A few details here and there but look at the preview invitation sketch, that's it.

    My only comment/speculation on name - won't have an "F" or a "12" in it ....

    Ingegnere,

Thanks for your excellent rendering. Have you (or do you plan to) developed a rear or three-quarter rear view rendering? It is the part of the car that seems the most difficult to visualize at this point. We know it has dual lights, but the resolution of the overall approach and details is not apparent yet.

What about Daytona 12 or Daytona 12-4? Simple and sound cool to me.

Can't see Ferrari officialy using a US name. Monza sounds more plausable.

I definitely agree that the car should have and Italian name rather than an American and I think Monza is currently the best. But as far as not using a US name? They did Super America and F60 America in the resent past. That being said, as has been mentioned murmurous times before, Daytona was never an official name and somehow I think that puts the nail in the coffin for that idea. But in a few weeks, we'll know.

Touché..... but I was referring to the 'M' in F12m.
Although Daytona would be awesome, I doubt Ferrari would dare to use that name on a non LE model.
