F12 Maranello
Rather think an 800/650 Monza would be a great name, though as others have said, the number 12 has been very much pushed to the front.
I also don't see them going with 650 but I could see them going with a 12 in the name, I agree with Traveller, they have mentioned it too many times "12th dimension" etc. "Inter" would be interesting...
Thanks. Regarding the front, I took some artistic license here because I felt that a long(ish), pointy nose looked nice, but realistically, a proper side-on view of the car would not be far off as you see on the prototypes that the forward extension of the car's flank, forward of the front wheel, seems longer than that of the F12. Thanks for the input. The rear, in the area of the "sharp" transition, is covered up on the camo car so expected something unexpected there, just like at every other area that is covered up - see below. Note, the simulated "vent" in the bumper was added by me. As for the front turning vanes, this seems to be very much present on the mules (see below), unless the pre-production design was revised before presentation. Maybe something small is there at the front, just not like Tdf. Your rendering is incredible I just recall the rear is less sharp and angular looking. Quite hefty in the lower part in fact.
Such a pretty car. Another left field choice is it time for another Testarossa? it's been over 20 years since the last one?
This will get you gents going....I was asked this morning when I want delivery of my "F12M".....1st customer cars (in Europe) will be delivered from Nov/Dec '17 onwards. Having previously experienced 1st production "batch/run" of an F-car, I've opted for a March/April '18 car and was subsequently told that I need to have her spec'd by Nov this year.....
Interesting that they say first customer cars Nov/Dec. I would have expected May/Jun typically for a Geneva launch car - I think that's what we've seen previously. Any idea why such latency? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As we all know, these things get very delayed. However as the GTC4L was a Feb preview, GVA launch, and end-'17 we saw some cars being delivered....time will tell [emoji4]
Disagree - sounds like normal schedule - essentially they typically use the summer shut-down to change the production line and then deliver a few cars into Europe before the year end
Again on the name, "Monza" and "Daytona" have been present in fan/media speculations for every new model since the nineties or so. Sistematically Ferrari has slapped fans/media in the face ignoring those names. I don't see them conceding right now. I leave however a 1% doubt because of the 12th.D
Me too. Don't want the first units of the belt. I'm speccing mine end 2017, early 2018 for delivery summer 2018.
Yep. Thankfully I'm going to Geneve on March 14, racing the 488 Challenge in Bologna on the 23, taking the F12 to Spa on March 30, going to Ascari on May 21, so loads of stuff to keep me busy.... But don't we all wish car would be presented and delivery few weeks after!
Latency? I'm assuming you mean so late? If so I think the reason is that they are behind on the tdf with last cars summer this year and the 70th anniversary cars to get out and finally way behind on the GTC4, my dealer only just receiving his demonstrator due over 6 months ago. Add in the LFA and the delay on switching the Modus system and there would be the explanation.
Did we establish that GM no longer own the rights to "Monza" ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Monza
Good point. But I doubt there would be a legal problem as the name of the model would be ''something-Monza'' and not single Monza. Also Monza is a city name and not a logo with copyrights. Only my thought as I'am not a lawyer
