Well yes, i know its irrelevant to most customers, but some companies and/or cars live or die by its time/rep on the ring, and I'm just curious. Plus, these three are so old, that we have a new batch coming out with updated EVERYTHING. So i dont really see why we're still talking about these three, when the other two are coming out.
If happens the same as with the SV, they will have a point... If not, kudos again and move on. Simple
Concerning good wood time,Bac Mono had more laps than other cars in the list except LFA which was extensively tested by various magazines and manufacturer themselves. So it should set faster time and Lotus Exige also set 1:27.8 there. So cornering speeds do matter there. You are saying 7:25 isn't impressive. The car it is close to is an Enzo.So using your logic with a proper driver it should lap slower than Exige. You should also know that acceleration also plays a part in straight line speed, not just top speed. Regardless of that P1 GTR is slow when compared to GT3 car in most circuits including red bull ring,Paul Ricard, etc.
No they won't. It's just that the 918's 'ring time isn't that fast or unbeatable as some make out. Long lap length, difficult for 918.
If you live and die by your ring time, your brand isn't worth a damn. Your cars likely aren't either.
I don't care, I've already told you this. You are now making these excuses to show that tests done on different days with different tires are in fact perfectly valid because they produce results which are "roughly comparable" and "in the same ballpark".. (you just have to attempt the worst kind of tire maths anyone's ever seen to accept it). My point is that you've also said countless times that tests done, with the SAME tires or cars, on different days are BS... i.e you are arguing against the very thing you said yourself. You might want to go back and look at what you said about how different models of the same tire can be very different (Z06) or the many, many posts you had on the Viper acr's tire rating. You even quoted your hero saying that the trofeoR's won't perform well on the 918 because of its weight. It's funny but you don't seem to give a **** about any of these things now? Strange that.. You've done the exact same thing with countless other arguments like passenger laps, driver skill, weather, familiarity with cars and tracks etcetcetcetcetcetc. You shrug your shoulders at an argument when it's used against you and then you turn around and use that very same argument a week later, as well as turning the whole world upside down trying to validate it.. It's not exactly surprising that people have blocked you or are making comments about you that aren't very flattering is it?...
It was and still is for the last 3 years. And last time we argued for another long track (Sebring), you was a little monkey for many people No need to reply. You're not interesting for me long time ago...
Hmm, i probably should have said it differently. How about its good for bragging rights. Or a D*** measuring contest between brands.
Hmm, for what reason? Shouldn't the people with the big V12 Lambos be more sad? 918 is the first car to crack 7 mins, that will stand forever. Just like Neil Armstrong is the first human on the moon. Plus, If the little Lambo beats the 918 time, it just means it also beat the P1, shouldn't you be the one crying foul? I guess we can expect 500 pages of posts from you to dispute the Huracan soon?
In that case the Germans have bigger dicks than the British, just like in real life haha. Porsche, Lamborghini are all under the VAG group, same company. Both are faster than the P1. I guess the P1 can be called the P4 now?
The LFA used a factory driver and was a development car and there is some debate as to whether the time is legitimate. Lexus LFA laptime at Goodwood - FastestLaps.com Aside from that lap the delta against the GTR has been a lot less than 5s, especially considering how short the Goodwood lap is. So very dubious that LFA time. Nissan GT-R vs Lexus LFA - FastestLaps.com GT-R LFA Fuji Speedway (post 2005) 1:53.22 1:54.60 Goodwood 1:27.70 1:22.62 Nürburgring Nordschleife Full 7:43.65 7:38.85 Nürburgring Nordschleife 7:26.70 7:38.00 Motortrend Figure-8 0:24.20 0:23.40 Balocco 2:48.73 2:48.52 SportAuto wet handling test 1:32.40 1:35.50 Virginia International Raceway Grand East Course (pre 01/2014) 2:55.60 2:55.10 Top Gear Track 1:19.70 1:22.80 Autocar Dry Handling Track 1:10.10 1:11.60 Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours Club 1:21.75 1:20.64 Hockenheim Short 1:10.70 1:11.00 Oddly enough though, look at the time of the very first lap after they leave the pits - 4:49. Hence my point wrt Sebring and battery being fully charged. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABzcxTkcizg Cornering speeds matter but power also matters at Goodwood and you're also looking at different day laps too. You're trying to read far too much into one track session wrt driving ability. All the times from the GT Open are available, which would make a much better source. Is he down on the very best, yes, but most magazine testers, even retired pros would be down by that much. And he owns the cars, so familiarity plays a part. To make out that he's 5s down on a car that's slower than the one he's in is ridiculous though. International GT Open Yes, indeed it is, but my point pertained to driver ability. If you look at Evo and Anglesey Coastal, the P1 GTR was only 2.5s faster than the P1 Trofeo R lap and 1.8s faster than an RXC Turb 500. And two pro drivers found only 4s between them on the same day at Bahrain International. Meanwhile a 650S GT3 laps Blyton Park in 55s, 5s faster than RXC Turbo. So if he can lap Spa in 2:20, 2up with some traffic, clearly he's no mean driver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efDhvfZhcNs
There is no P1 time by a pro on Sebring, or even an amateur. All we found out from Sebring is that the 918 battery does not last long in HL Mode.
No it wasn't, a Radical was the first road legal car to do it. And a Nissan was the first to crack 8 minutes, does anyone care? No. No, you will just say the Lambo cheated on the 'ring.
Right, did you get that info from your "sources" sport? Why don't you prove it with a YOuTUbe video sport?? Ohhhh righttt canttttt
For your info LFA has already done 1:24.8 by Autoexpress drivers with around 10 or more laps.I think that Auto car didn't took them for that amount of laps. Also Tiff Needell did a 1:25.8(6:52-8:18),1:24.36(6:45-8:09),1:24.76(6:28-7:43)with F1 already by timing this video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=t7Azl-drqMk I also expect Bac Mono to be faster than 7:20 at the ring.So I don't doubt that LFA with factory driver can do such amount of time. Regarding comparing racing car laps to their road car counterpart, for that issue I don't use magazines.A MP4-12c GT3 could only do 1:02 by sport auto and Gallardo GT3 could only do around 6:44. Consider this as an example.Racecar drivers are used to driving cars with huge down force and what will happen if you remove them? Most sports cars struggle to reduce lift let alone produce down force, sport auto dyno test is a good example.
Awesome...congrats on the new car Whoopsy. The 964 Turbo 3.6 is probably my favorite 911 and one of my favorite Porsches of all time. There is something very special about that car. I almost purchased one (a black on black car) years ago just before the big jump in prices. I still kick myself regularly for not buying one back then. So, a time of 6:57 around the ring in a street legal production car is not that fast? That is an interesting take on things from a supposed car guy... HAHA In your dreams... The bottom line is the 918 is the fastest of the three hypercars in most real world scenarios. You can post on here until your fingers bleed trying to disprove this fact but it still won't change anything... Lieven, all you are accomplishing here is a colossal waste of your time as well as the time of everyone who chooses to read your inane arguments. Damn, I wish I didn't come back to this thread...oh well, at least I got to see pics of a 964 Turbo 3.6!!!
Hahahaha wow he's a dip****!!! The person who doesn't believe ANYTHING unless there's video proof (except when a 918 wins on video then he still rejects it) makes this flat out false assertion based on old rumors. What a moron.
Thanks! Really hard to find one in good condition and the right price. Consider the pics as a compensation for everyone who had to endure all the lies and twisted tales from Mr. Liar.
I think a reasonable compensation for our pain and suffering is you have to let each of us drive your 918.
