Gulp. Hopefully we've just tested bottom with that view...it's all up from here! Looks like we'll be seeing a lot of dark greys, the blacks and maybe the darkest reds. It strikes me that the exaggerated width in back looks like it demands a meatier rear track (or a sizable spacer). Maybe just the angle.
+1 not crazy about the rear view at all but the front 3/4 looks good.. love the yellow ...and I am not a yellow fan...
I am worried as well, once the blind excitement passes am not sure that aesthetically we are breaking new ground here, looks a real mish mash. Very very colour dependent.
I probably would feel the same if I had not seen it in the flesh, and relied solely on that horrendous Giallo Modena picture of a real production car. For what it is worth, the overwhelming reaction in the preview room with the new darker red (rosso settanta) and satin/matte grigio ferro was very positive from all present-more so for the GF version. I have asked for a later build slot in 2018 so that I can see some of the colour interplay as the 812s come off the line. However at least after seeing that pic I can definitely take Giallo Modena off the list (not that I would have picked that colour anyway for this car!). BUT I definitely am still buying - will be an awesome car with real presence from both an engineering and aesthetic perspective.
I don't want to be disrespectful in any way that's why I don't give my opinion about the 812 until I see it live and I've learned that some times what we see in photos is the antipode of the real thing. However looking at the rear of the car which is the less consensual part and also observing other angles, looks like the 812 is much more sensitive to the color scheme than for instance the F12b. Caution and observation is therefore recommended before choosing the best chromatic combination that enhances the lines and all the beauty of this Ferrari.
I look forward to seeing it in Geneva, but the factory shot of the rear of the gaillo car is worrying. Is 2 seat V12 elegance dead? I hope not.
Did ************ at the preview about the dimensions of the 812? Is this new model bigger (more width, length) than the previous F12 measurements? Thanks
slightly longer and wider - cannot remember precisely but I think it was in only single digit mm's. Cannot recall the weight or wheelbase details.
Can't wait to see rosso settanta... When you see this comparison the 812 seems to be a little more wide and flat... https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/s480x480/e35/16585591_238700389872127_1025836772392697856_n.jpg
When I see that comparison I immediately think: F12 is a far far superior design. That is the only thing that comes to mind.
Thanks for those details as there has been little talk of the actual size of the new 812. The yellow 812 example parked beside a California on the Ferrari factory floor looked rather substantial!
