As to the Aperta, to me those sketches would not have me concerned in the likelyhood I wasn't allocated one. For my eye, weighed down as I am by historical baggage, that's not a success, in fact it's gross. Sorry.

Caeruleus kindly found some images of the car photomontage in the real world, and also a better grey render.

As I have posted before, this design is very colour sensitive and the grey seems to tone the whole thing down and the word elegant could almost could be mentioned in the same sentence as 812. That is probably why the matte grey car was so popular at the previews. I really want to see what happens at the rear in a grey as that is where I find the design uncohesive, and I am hoping the right colour will change all of that.

    Credits obviously as attached.

It actually looks good in the 'real world' pics above from the rear.

Could anyone please change it from red to Grey like the pic below?

I thought the same. I suspect the car is much lower than the Ferrari pics show.

That works much better for me. I can image with some sunlight reflecting from the metallic paint that would look good in Grigio Silverstone or maybe Grigio Ferro too.

Well this just proves what we were mostly suspecting. Thanks Isot for your great work and that is close to Grigio Medio, which I know will excite DCM, but imagine in Silverstone, Ferro or even Titanio.

I feel much more positive having seen this and can well understand why everyone raved about the matte grey car and many were less than flattering about the red one.

Really dislike how the rear fenders are draped over the rear of the car leaving that gap at the outer edges of the tail lights. Looks like it is swallowing a Corvette. Maybe that is Ferrari humor for how they will devour the competition with this new 812...

The Lusso GTC4 rear design solution is much more attractive. How much better can the 812's cd numbers be with it's overdone rear design?

It's not so much how much better are the aero numbers, 98% of the drivers wont/can't go fast enough for the aero to make that much of a difference.
Having spent hundreds if not thousands of hours in the wind tunnel, i speak from experience. On the track, maybe, on the street, not so much.

I was also concerned about that at the preview when I first saw the red car. Two comments - firstly on the grey car with the splitter in a contrasting colour, it looked good. Secondly, I don't think the in colour splitter on the red car looked good at all. It seems to change the general look of the rear when the splitter is in a contrasting colour.

Another point, the new red looked ok in the lighting of the preview tent while, in the atelier, where they had a car in the same red, it looked a lot better with the lighting there.

When you say in a contrasting colour, what colour was the splitter on the Grey car?

The IG user notreallygreatphotos insists this is legitimate. He says he has more and will post them soon. Lets see what happens.

Well, I went back and looked at the comments and now they have changed. Before he said something along the lines of in a few hours I'll post some more angles. Now its "I'll photoshop some more angles" And Tsoybelis is right that the interior is from an F12. Look at the top of the instrument binnacle vs the 812

Sorry guys this one wasn't real and I thought it was. I must be getting old- the younger version of me would have figured this out right away!

Haha, I replied to your post and only then I saw your edit... anyway this is what i was writing:

That's 1000% a photoshop, it's the exact view from the press photos and it's impossible there are cars already registered, much less in Monaco. Expect the first pre-production units these days around Maranello in none or very light camouflage and "prova" plates.

But still, it gives you a sense of the car in the wild. So its helpful in that regard. It looks the part.
