That's an easy question. The bike that is the equivalent of the F355. Perfectly sized and perfectly proportioned with a stunning visual design. Ducati 916 in yellow. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I like the NCR M16 although I'd think most don't like the half-fairing look of it. The front end of the D16RR has grown on me a lot over the years and the tail on the NCR looks fantastic. The carbon details on this is what I like most although it's more than excessive for sure. 319lbs and 200HP+ at the wheel would likely kill me within 10 feet of riding. Currently, to me, the 2017 Ducati SuperSport is the best looking motorcycle (although I'd choose a different color scheme). ELECTED MOST BEAUTIFUL BIKE EICMA 2016 "A streetable superbike". Ducati Performance will be selling a full Akrapovic exhaust for the Supersport that relocates the exhaust to underseat. I don't have a picture or price yet but it will not be cheap. Based on reaction and reasonable MSRP I am sure Ducati will sell a boatload of the Supersport and Supersport S. Not to me, I personally don't care for it but acknowledge I am in the minority. The way it looks just doesn't do it for me, like a Chinese company tied to copy the Panigale. We will see if they do a 1200cc version. Have my doubts.
Exhaust kits from Ducati are pricey for sure. The one for the xDiavel is almost $2500 and it consists of only slip-on muffs plus an ECU (i.e. no full exhaust), correct? The Super Bagger needs better aesthetics. . Image Unavailable, Please Login
Duacati 996S Monoposto in yellow. All-day-long. The Suzuki RGV 500 ( Schwantz's bike) was a sexy one also.
Yamaha XSR700. Unfortunately we only get the 900 here which is more than I want. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually I may have to change my answer to the Britten V1000. I saw two race a couple years back at Barber (9 of the 10 were there). Stunning machine.
While the 2017 Ducati Superleggera looks very similar to the standard Panigale, looking closer almost every piece is a different material or altered to be lighter in some way. The original 2014 SL with its bright orange paint and detailing will give hours of enjoyment just seeing how they seem to have thought of everything on that bike. The 2017 version made mostly of carbon fiber comes out and blows even that bike away. For my money, the most exotic and interesting sportbike ever offered to the public. Including the Desmosedici RR and RC-213V-S. D16RR is close though Non-phone friendly hi-res pics here. https://i2.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Ducati-1299-Superleggera-high-resolution-02.jpg https://i0.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Ducati-1299-Superleggera-high-resolution-18.jpg https://i2.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Ducati-1299-Superleggera-high-resolution-03.jpg https://i2.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Ducati-1299-Superleggera-high-resolution-01.jpg https://i2.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Project-1408-Ducati-1299-Superleggera-parts-06.jpg https://i1.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Project-1408-Ducati-1299-Superleggera-parts-05.jpg https://i2.wp.com/www.asphaltandrubber.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Project-1408-Ducati-1299-Superleggera-parts-04.jpg

Looking at the photos on their website I'd say that they put the definition of aesthetics in a blender.
I'm going to say yet again, engineering combined with actual competition/race success brings a better motorcycle to the worldwide market. Unfortunatly, t-shirts, leather vests and flatulent exhausts, oh....and ancient air cooled technology (really)? ....drives a certain brand and their loyal followers. It's sad.
And I did not know these puppies were getting those bucks... Cheers RE Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have always thought the rare Moto Guzzi Daytona to be one of the most handsome bikes I have ever seen. It was my good fortune to find this one wasting away in the back of a dusty warehouse and I restored it over a 9 month period. Turned out that it was big fun to ride, too. Air cooling is great, it makes for a lighter, low maintenance bike. I've owned a HD and now have a Monster and XR. I'm selling the Monster because I just bought one of the best bikes made a BMW S1000R. Many people think it's ugly, I think it's good looking like a tank. To me, this is the best looking MC. I am partial since I had it built. The tins were hot dipped in brass. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I will try to break it into categories as IMO the expectations of a cruiser are different than a retro bike are different from a sportbike. Bikes available today... Touring: Moto Guzzi California 1400 Touring honorable mention: Indian Chief Vintage Crusier: Ducati Xdiavel S honorable mention: Moto Guzzi Griso Retro bike: Moto Guzzi V7 Racer honorable mention: Triumph Thruxton R Sport bike: MV Agusta F3 800 RC honorable mention: Honda CBR1000RR SP2 Naked Bike: MV Agusta Brutale 800 America honorable mention: Ducati 1200 Monster R Dream bike: Ducati 1299 SuperLeggera honorable mention: MV Agusta F4-RC Dirt Bike: Husqvarna 701 Enduro honorable mention: Beta 450RR But I have all expectation of the sportbike list above to be bumped down one this fall when Ducati unveils the V4 replacement for the Panigale.
These are beautiful, as are the Ghezzi-Brian Guzzis. But for me, the best looking bike ever built was the Ducati 916/996/998 series. Absolutely perfect to my eyes, I really loved (and still love) them.
