He's got a RHD '59 that's nicer - if I had nothing better to do I'd build one up with a modern V12

Doubt it. Don Johnson's Testa I think fetched a good price but since then it has been a hard sell.

Politician's cars rarely get a premium, it's film and music stars and even then it depends on the cool factor. e.g anything Steve McQueen owned is sought after.

I have a friend who has Malcolm Fraser's Lancia Flaminia, which is just as saleproof as any other OHOS Lancia sedan :)

Semi related - I wonder if Hewson ever got his GT4 fixed. I remember Greg mentioning it years back being laid up at a mechanic for a long time.

Not 600K. It's worth $350 to 400K tops depending on solid history and books.

IIRC the mechanic told me it dropped a valve whilst his son was hooning in it with some mates. I tried to buy it in 2002 but he wasn't in the headspace to let it go

clearly not a locally delivered car, these adds are like real estate - it's what they don't say that matters. Price is probably reasonable if it hasn't got corrosion issues, but you'd want to look very closely.
