I think the darker color suit very well the 812 and after seeing the profile aligned with the previous family models there is no doubt it's a understandable evolution.

One is a 4 seater and the other a 2 and the 812 much more elaborated…..

Exactly! I am sure Tailor Made can offer that option, but (as expected) it could be very pricey :D

Satin black interior finish would be ideal for me like Bugatti did with the Supersport Veyron. Are the ally parts easy to remove?

The 550 profile is stunning. Sans 275 GTB in this collection, I think that's #1. The 812 isn't convincing me otherwise...

Like I mentioned before to Marcel Massini One of these days will do one for the GT V12 classics before 1964 and the 275 GTB will be there.

Excuse me all for the little off topic and excuse me Mario, maybe I'm still sleepy from my siesta but what about the 365 GT4/400/412 series?

You're right but they are missing due to lack of space so choices had to be made. If you put too many cars with the low resolution the pictures won't have the minimum acceptable quality.

Excellent point. Also what about 330 GTC? There could be others I am not thinking of right off the bat also.

Mario, again I have to say thanks for doing the work, it shows the 812 in the context of other past greats. But Marcel is right. The 275 GTB (not long nose not the torque tube not the /4) was introduced at the 64 Paris show, isn't that later in the year? While the 500 Superfast was introduced earlier in the year at Geneva 1964- so you really should include the 275. The 275 and I also think the 330 should be in there as well. Look at the gap from the Daytona and 365 GTC until the 92 456. Also the "Queen Mother"... I'm sure I could come up with a few more if I really think about it.

I think Ferrari has a different product mix now than they had back in the 50s and 60s.

It seems you picked 64 as that is the year of the 500 Superfast. I have been advised by someone I trust and is very knowledgable on these cars, the 500 Superfast was a car that was truly for royals and the most important VIPs. That's it. They made 36. Basically 250 GTO production numbers. So it seems to me, while its Ferrari's name to use, that its not really an appropriate use of the Superfast name. Suggestion: why not make a chart that shows all the past front engine V12 GT street cars, and make it 2 seaters only.

Either way, thank you for your work!

A great and sensible suggestion I'll take it in full consideration next time. This time it was done pretty fast due to lack of time so the idea was to start with one Superfast, in this case the 1964, to the present Superfast 2017. Unfortunately the chat pictures allowed resolution is very limitative so it's not possible to group more than seven cars per picture.

For the future I will devise a group of charts each with seven cars with all the 2 seaters V12 GT street cars from the starting of Ferrari company to the present time.

Thanks Mario, even if not including every model, you made your point. I'm still not in love with the 812, but, it does slot into that group of cars. I guess thats how it goes, sometimes they will make designs you just love and sometimes they will make designs that aren't for you.

I love this one. I think thats basically true. We're all here because of our passion for Ferrari. I should also point out, we all have different writing styles also different ways of interpreting what others write. I've been around long enough to have learned the short comings of text- based communication.

By the way, why does everyone seem to refer to the 500 Superfast as the original user of the name?
I thought the 410 and 400 predate it; while one may argue the 410 was a Superamerica, the 400 was only named 400 Superfast if I'm not mistaken.

If that is not a reference to Derrida, it must be one of the silliest things recorded by FerrariChat.
