    Agreed. Also I don't think a reasonably specced 812 will be that much-more like £290/300. I hope.

I am sure if you want a car in first 18 months it will have to be like a Xmas tree with options, my GTC with Triple paint is 315, options list gets longer and longer !

Yes you can add options to reach stellar pricing, but you do not have to; the cars are built to order and you actually spec them just when they are ready to enter production, and at that time what you chose will not introduce any delay (even if Ferrari is not happy that you have been limiting yourself). I know there was not the same demand, but I got one of the first 488 GTB (delivered September 2015) with less than €10K extras (just to show how cheap I am :D

Thankfully not in my case. If you stay away from triple layer paints, I think (hope) sub £300k for a good spec should be realistic but I assume pricing will be announced at Geneva?

For the 488 GTB (also unveiled at Geneva) pricing has been available a few weeks later, allowing order confirmation in April.
With the F12B at around £250K (I guess) and the F12 TDF at £339K (official list price, lost in oblivion for some time...) a ballpark of £300K for the 812S seems to be reasonable indeed.

Pricing is already out for the 812 in some markets and on the surface significantly lower than F12. However, one has to consider that some markets (higher taxes) have specific free option packs for the F12 which you won't see on the early 812s. It will be interesting to see how the like for like pricing is.

Thanks, I was not aware of that - could you share a few details (e.g. base price) with comparison to F12B?

So what is the visual difference between Canna di Fucile 'standard' and three layer?

The two 812 Superfast to be presented at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show will most probably be painted in the new red and the new grey. Subject to last minute change, of course.

Thanks for the info Marcel. I am eager to see pictures of the car in a real setting and also to hopefully one day sooner than later, see it in person! I'm still back and forth on it.

That's astonishing and clearly there has to be some other explanation as Ferrari, nor indeed any car company, would price the new car cheaper than the old. Depressing if you own an F12 in the parts of the world you are referencing.

There seems to be some debate as its new but I love CDF and the three layer appears to be deeper and pops a bit more. Std CDF or Ferro also lovely, also think Titanio and AN silver will look fabulous for "free" and quick production.

Give Ferrari back some of the £700k they just gave you on your TDF by getting some good paint Tim ;-)

Actually its genius. Firstly Ferrari are not in the business of keeping residuals up on cars they have already sold. Secondly I think they are trying to increase their mix i.e. push out more V12's as a % of total sales.

IMO the marginal cost difference in producing a 812 vs a 488 cannot be that different. As a result each extra 812 adds far more to Ferrari's bottom line. In addition by pricing the car aggressively all that happens is people load up on options ( i know I will) and the car comes in higher than the F12 anyway.

Secondly it "destroys" the competition (Adornment) and probably gets a few Lambo customers into Ferrari's

Anyway 812 buyers will be happy :)

I see the Aussie dollar has been pretty much flat against the euro over a two year period, but regardless of currency fluctuations shouldn't the local prices on the new car always be more than the outgoing model? Confused.

In the UK we were told to expect a small increase which actually sounded quite good with the post-Brexit currency.

it does seem from my contacts that the 812 will be priced lower than the F12. I have no explanation of why.

Thanks Marcel. I may have missed it, and sorry if it's here somewhere, but what is the "new grey"? Is it Canna di Fucile or Ferro derived, or new altogether?

Are there pics of it someplace?
