    its (re)ignited debate about the privatisation of airports and encroaching development and the consequences of these buffer zones being turned intro retail development..

    Developers just see it all as "empty"..

    As do the regulatory authorities after political pressure is brought to bear.

    A member of our private (rural) residential airpark was able to persuade a local councilman to propose, and ultimately get approved, a requirement that all developments within a mile of our airstrip must inform new homeowners of the proximity of the airpark, said notification to be recorded as part of their deed. Basically to preempt any future complaints about noise of safety.

    What in hell is this world coming to! Some common sense in a councilman! Unheard of of! They actually recognized that an airport exists and that people who buy land near it might hear an airplane and maybe one of them might have a problem? That's a first!
