Remember when cars were pretty, engines sounded great and the only button a driver pushed was to start the car? How did we get to this?
And why exacly should he have destroyed Felipe? I mean Elton wasn't able to beat him in a similar performante car....
Hali was doing just fine until the FIA intervened and gifted points to Massa. In reality it was never close and Massa was faster back then
Bottas has been driving against the Massa of today, not Massa of 08. Credit where it's due, Massa was absolutely hopeless in the wet just like today, but he was otherwise pretty fast that season.
These new cars appears so long that, like truck drivers, they will have to take all corners checking the rear view mirrors to ensure the rear wheels don't clip the inside walls. Longer wheelbase makes a car easier to drive quickly, but also slows the change of direction speed down. They are returning to 1950's wheelbase to track width numbers ... weird IMO. Pete
Looking at the new cars, I have only one comment...Good God how did it come to this! They look worse than ever. They are covered with all manner of aero do-dad. Flip here, flap there, wings, boards, conditioners, straighteners, splitters...can we just have cars again? I predict that they will look like slot cars as the uber-aero rules stick them to the track so firmly that they will appear to be on rails.
This has become the Red Bull airplane races turned upside down. 2017 F1 cars have wings that push them down rather than lift them. The propellers have been replaced by wheels.
Doesn't look as silly as a dorsal fin WITH a T-WING lololol. and here we thought a dorsal fin couldn't get any worse... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm afraid it looks like the equivalent of a kit car, knocked together by a few mates in a lock up garage! Like those chunky rear tyres though
the weird thing about these cars is the small sidepod that looks out of place with the big tyres and floor that looks like somebody got lazy to remove the excess bits
Button had the advantage of Hamilton crashing out/being crashed out of numerous races en route to topping him that one season (including being taken out by Button in Canada). I think Bottas is in an entirely different circumstance (though I don't think he'll be blown away a la Kovaleinen)
But guys, lets be honest...nearly all cars have been revealed and we where promised that the cars would ''look absolutely beautiful''. That's not exactly the case, is it? Their extra width and wider tires gets lost because the cars are so idiotic long! they are just as hideous as any of the 2014+ cars.
So is Rosberg but still you named him Vanilla Driver and not nearly equal to Lewis...So WDC alone does not say anything, not even if its suits your argument... So Bottas is coming into a team that was behind Lewis over the last years and certainly will be in 2017 (even more than McLaren in 2007), so nobody should have the illusion that Bottas can actually match Lewis in his first season there. Even if he would be as good as Lewis (what I do not see) there is no chance that he will beat Lewis in his own team...Although Mercedes again does try to tell us how unbiased they are towards their drivers and that there is no No.1 (hopefully not to keep another boring season interesting) nobody with brain takes this serious anymore. Let´s see with what behaviors Lewis gets away this years

yep, you really can't mess this paint scheme up. Its been that way since the late 60's and 70's with Porsche. Paint scheme has been on red cars and light blue cars.
yes although I think daddy bought him a booster seat made out of carbon fibre; had it helicoptered in i believe. I was surprised his dad did'nt put any of his sponsors/companies on the car?
Williams looks very much like an evolution of their 2014-16 car. It looks great though in the livery. Should once again be a solid 4-5th placed team. Thank **** they've got Stroll and Massa as drivers, if Massa drives like last year and Stroll as I expect, Ferrari won't have much to fear from them at least!
You are suggesting that Mercedes has been biased towards Hamilton. If that were the case, why did they allow Rosberg to win the WDC last season? I think it is fairly obvious that they allowed their drivers to compete against each other, and that competition is why there were several incidents between them.
Wow....the Merc looks absolutely fantastic. Easily the best looking car so far once again. Wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton wins another 10+ races and 10+ poles. Can't wait for Melbourne.
thought I would post if anyone is interested with regards to Toro Rosso's launch. Toro Rosso delays 2017 STR12 launch! Toro Rosso delays 2017 STR12 launch!
