Talk of lower pricing is confusing. My take was that Ferrari would position 812 Superfast and future V12 2 seaters as the "premium" model of the regular production cars. If rumours are true my worry is that they may offer a V8 T version as they have with 365 GTC4 Lusso.
Shack, My take on Australian pricing. When you normalise pricing with the effects of currency, LCT, import duty we used to pay a premium to markets like the UK and US. This started to change when McLaren reduced the price of the 12c and then Lambo on the Hurucan. Since this time we have seen a significant price drops when the Cali T launched, then the 488 and the GTC4 Lusso - we are now seeing this on the 812. Looking at where prices sit now (normalising for our taxes and tariffs) we are now broadly equivalent to the US and UK - or at least we were pre Brexit. Looking at the 488 more closely, prices dropped from the 458 around 10% here and yet in most other markets they stayed the same or slightly increased - I suspect you will see the same with the F12. And yes I have one on order too! I actually did up a spreadsheet to see who's still gouging and who's not...and Porsche are by far the most guilty. If our import laws change expect large price drops on their higher end models.
OK, so we are probably an anomaly compared to other markets in that we were "bent over" hugely and now we are just bent over not as much. In the UK if you are talking 300k (pounds) and you then add all our taxes then the price does make sense in terms of what I have been quoted as list price ex options and stamp duty
If you want to get bent over hugely (!!!) come to Thailand or Singapore. The F12 in Thailand without much fruit is approx US$1 million.
I have this all the time with my Singapore buddies until I ask them how much personal tax they pay - then it all goes quiet
Perhaps the value of the euro is a factor. For example, when the F12 came out the euro was worth $1.35 USD Today the euro is worth $1.05 USD
At Excel today three layer yellow RHD for 1.25, probably punchy but imagine how brazen the vendor is allowing it for sale at a car show ! Ferrari take NOTE please.
Brazen indeed and clearly not interested in any more cars from them. I suppose a really fully specced car may well now be close to £1m. My handover starts this Wednesday.........
Probably a big anti climax for most. Plan is to get a viewing of the 812 at the same time all being well. I'm really looking forward to seeing that back end and making up my mind. I remember seeing the leaked tdf pics and being disappointed. Until, that was, the private viewing.
In the U.K. I'm not sure if prices for the new models will have gone up or down. I'm not sure if the pound has lost value compared to the euro since Brexit. Since the Brexit, the British pound, like the euro, has lost value compared to the dollar.
Pound it down a little over 10% vs euro. Here in the UK, we are told to expect a small price increase.
TM is the ultimate personalisation programme. You want your seats covered in the tenderest parts of some rare animal, it is doable, but all at a price.
