Hi dear Countach enthusiasts, I'm currently trying to list all the Countach LP400 that have spent some time in the USA. By "spent some time" I mean cars that have been registered at some point in their lives, from the 70s 'til now. Not the ones discreetly imported from Middle-Eastern countries or else, and being restored for the past decades... So far I have: 1120004 1120008 1120010 1120024 1120026 1120028 1120030 1120036 1120040 1120052 1120056 1120058 1120066 1120078 1120086 1120088 1120090 1120098 1120104 1120110 1120116 1120126 1120134 1120136 1120142 1120152 1120154 1120156 1120158 1120160 1120162 1120166 1120170 1120172 1120178 1120184 1120188 1120192 1120194 1120196 1120204 1120218 1120222 1120234 1120238 1120262 1120266 1120268 1120280 1120284 1120286 1120290 1120298 1120300 I'm pretty sure I'm still missing a couple more cars here! Is there anybody to add more? To remove some?
Are you sure? Your source says: "Information on this car was sourced from Registry. The data on this specific vehicle was last updated 12-Mar-2001."
The best shop that everybody seems to outsource stuff to is FJB LTD in Arizona. Jeff LeBlond is a guy whose skill set is beyond words in the area of shocks, suspensions, and so on...
To be more specific & hopefully helpful, 1120007 was not owned by Jim Phelan so I doubt it spent time in the USA. FWIW Jim Phelan actually owned 1120008 (now in Argentina) in the USA, a car he erroneously described as the LP400 Prototype - until Raymond discovered the real thing.
Exactly. To be even more specific: Walter Wolf owned 1120006 - the mysterious 1120007 (strange chassis number!) has already been discussed here, too.
Possibly. IIRC someone posted an old Japanese import document where "1120007" was listed. And the Japanese model manufacturer Eidolon Make Up made a model of the white/red "1120007". Eidolon Make Up produces great models in 1/43 scale, by the way - I have both versions of 1121002 and two LP400 of them, but I still am searching for the LP400 in giallo/tabacco (they made it).
Nice! I remember both the white Jalpa and the white Countach 5000S (and a girl dressed in white at Lamborghini's place) but I don't remember any of the other cars (this may speak for itself).
Some of Benduj78's images of this event are posted earlier in this thread. Image Unavailable, Please Login
And I belive there is still a Bianco/Bianco LP500S in the Frankfurt area today with distinctive Bianco steering wheel. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Love seeing the Aston Martin V8 Vantage too! What a firebreathing monster that was back in the day! Mike
My first Countach drive was a white on white mod year 83. In Munich. Non functional speedo. But did 6500 rpm in 5 th. whatever speed that transelates to. Att getter does not cover it. It was like landing a space shuttle. Belonged to a gupsey. Had tiny persian rug/floormats.
Hmmm.. my '82 LP5000S was delivered new to Germany some time in late 1982. White over white. No wing. Never seen a photo of it before it found its way to me. Hmmm....
Have you done any work on a QV engine? does it suffer from any particular restrictions? I would love to know what the ideal size ITB would be, I had to guess...
Most of the gold Countach were either painted 'Oro Metallizzato Longchamp' or 'Oro Sahara'. But this Countach LP400 was ordered in a very rare color named 'Oro Vecchio'... meaning "Old Gold". I have never seen this shade of gold. Does anybody here have a photo of any Lamborghini (or any other classic car) wearing this unusual color? Image Unavailable, Please Login
