So Performante's time was real after all.Anyway let's wait and see how it performs on other circuits. Cheers to them for setting record lap time.
So lambo didn't say what tire?? It's blatantly obvious after the first corner it's a slick. Sport you wouldn't know that because you have never driver a race car on slicks. Lambo on Trofeo R. All you have to do is listen sport https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW_JyOD5tmY
Even Porsche has said the 918 could have gone 10-15s faster, so I don't see what makes the time so unbelievable. They put in more laps, simples. It doesn't need to beat the 918 everywhere to make it correct.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsHuNFEa8H4 Afraid not sport, only 10kph faster than heavier AMG GTR around Flugplatz, a lap ran at 4degC. Calculates to 1.6g, easily possible on a fast corner with Trofeo Rs. Slower around Aremberg too. http://www.germancarforum.com/threads/sport-auto-nordschleife-laptimes.67/page-75#post-817782
Because its so far away from what the standard car can do. Be very interesting to see what times the customer car does. Lap time wise.....
ONLY 10kph LOL, thats pretty substantial sport So why are these Trofeos completely silent compared to the sport auto video???
so you agree then, seeing as how 14-34 and 22-38 is within 12-20s and that the gap between the supertest is relative because of limited time those are rather standard (see 430 scud/458S), it doesn't match the surface area of the ACRs front splitter and wing and the tyres used aren't as sticky as them either, so it didn't go as far as the ACR just like the P1s laptime
You mean what the standard car can do with Sport Auto, which is usually 15-20s behind a factory lap. 16s in the case of the 918, and the factory themselves said there was another 10-15s to be had in that 918 lap. Was the LP610 lap even on Trofeo Rs? If not, another 10s there. If people realised how much play there is in a 'ring lap they'd stop using them as the benchmark of all and sundry.
Not really sport, gets you from 1.45g to 1.6g, a figure seen several times during Harris's Portimao lap and the remainder of the AMG GTR lap. Look at Ex-Muhle, the Perf was slower there. Sorry but nowhere is the corner speed so ludicrous that it stands out.
Not really no. How do you know it's not like 6s for one car and 20s for the other. Nurburgring times are just inconsistent for the purposes of magazine laps. Whereas I can show you that the LT and P1 are faster than the SV by a considerable margin on every single track they've both been on. That's exactly my point, you're using the same logic I'm using for the P1's lap time. And it's reasonable, but if you use it for one, you have to agree that it's reasonable for the other. The mounting evidence is that the 918's 6:57 was done with relatively little effort (SV & Perf laps) and 6:4X is definitely possible for hypercars. Hell, even an SV might post 6:47 on Trofeo Rs.
Sport you forgot to answer so I'll remind you... So why are these Trofeos completely silent compared to the sport auto video???
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but you can slightly hear tire squeal around the 1:15 mark and some other places. Its just that its masked under the V10.
That must be some tire. I was pretty suspicious after not hearing any sustained tire squeal like you do here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DW_JyOD5tmY (huracan on R's). Yeah I hear the occasional chirp but no continual squeal from turn in to apex like above. Congrats to lambo if its legit. I guess the P3 is demoted to P4 now lol
I did notice that between the Sport auto video and Lambo's own video, the microphones quality was different. I know nothing about audio, so i have no idea how its different, its just that sport's audio sound a bit more rough or corse compard to lambo's. Plus, the Performante was much, much smoother vs the Sport auto driving.
Agreed the Perf was a much smoother drive, but you will still get tire squeal at the limit with a grooved street tire. Clearly he was on the limit to set that time. I am just surprised you barely hear any being that it is very high pitched sound. Even re watching harris with the p1 on trofeos it is squealing away...
Performante will be debuting brand new 'dual compound' Corsa. While keeping the 'Corsa' name, the new rubber is a huge step foward. Taking a similar approach to Kumho 720 ACR's, which are simply track tires...
Some people on Mclife and LP stated something else. Mclife was the one who mention a healthy chunk of info on the performance thread down in the lambo section on fchat. But i think those are optional, though I'm not entirely sure. here's what he mentioned. It sounds similar to what you're stating: The confirmed tire is a Pirelli P-Zero Corsa specifically developed for the Perf that will come standard on the customer car. This was the tire used at the Ring. It's competitive to Pirelli's own Trofeo R on the track, but fit's the needs of street use better. You can see this tire in some of the spy shots. I have personally seen the tire. It has a wider contact patch and is stickier than a standard P-Zero Corsa. 285 up front, 305 out back. This will be the new go to tire for even Macs in the future.
Ooohhhh, this is going to interesting to see how they spin this, then. But regardless, at least they're available for customers. So thats good.
Here goes a pretty good picture of the front tire. What do ya think? Lamborghini Huracan Performante photo Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
