I ate there when I visited Maranello. Felt great, actually the whole visit felt awesome. It makes you feel you belong to something important, even if you can't afford to own one of the cars.

This rocks! Thanks for sharing. Have been there twice (factory tour and corso pilota) but never have never seen these areas. Very cool and much appreciated. It's a very special place

We got the "full" tour when we spent a day at the factory in late 2015, though we didn't stay the night....

Seeing Enzo's office was quite cool....I have had the opportunity previously to spend time in the (old) F1 offices, where some of the hardwood floors had been upgraded, but the sections underneath where Enzo sat remained unchanged

Interestingly, the day we were there (primarily to spec the TDF) they had locked up Fiorano to film the promo, introduction and "stock action shots" of the TDF on track, so we got to see de Simone thrashing the car with the filming Jeep trying to keep up....then come in to the building to change rear tires every 20mins or so

enjoy the car, it's a beast

I should just point out that the shelves of white coloured books on the left side of the fireplace in the last photograph contain details of every race Ferrari competed in, together with precise details of the cars, set up, conditions etc etc.

This now the view from his desk and somewhat inevitably a picture of Gilles Villeneuve.

Curious...how is it they trust people to stay alone in a museum like this?

Tim, congratulations. What a way to top off a lengthy process. Hope everything has finally met your enthusiastic expectations. I saw pictures of the car a few days ago, I commend you for spending so much time and effort into settling on what finally became your spec. Truly a stunning and unique car, instant classic. Unmatched in my eyes.

 

That's very kind of you and much appreciated as it was a long and frustrating process, but at least for me, worth the wait. Shortly we will get to the actual handover.

 

You are absolutely right and I too found that extraordinary that no one cautioned me until afterwards when I was told one shouldn't sit in THE chair. Needless to say, I spent an hour in the dead of night doing exactly that, ruminating, rifling through his address books and drawers, but well aware of my responsibility not to damage or otherwise interfere. A quite extraordinary privilege.

We're one not that way inclined, the temptation must surely be overwhelming as I will shortly post.

Tim, I bet they now close off Case Ferrari unless you spend 10k a night.... Personally I could not have done it, maybe as it's 25 years I have been going there, but I find that sort of thing a little bit creepy !

What I do love though is the magic of Ferrari. Luca carried that on so well too.Let's see how the next generation carry that forward.

 

I can understand your feelings. For me, it was just an extraordinary experience and an incredible privilege, a once in a lifetime moment and I'm afraid I wanted to soak up ever centilla of history and atmosphere whilst strongly respecting this opportunity. Personally, if I were Ferrari, I would make the space off limits unless accompanied as I am sure there are some who might not respect this incredible privilege and in some way tamper with this time capsule. I might also have used the wrong word, looking might have been better than rifling, but I have to confess my curiosity got the better of me.

So ferrari converted Enzo's office into a luxury guest house for special deliveries ?

 

No,that's not it. His office was one room and is frozen in time, the rest I believe was always residential accommodation, they have just markedly upgraded it to be rented out for special occasions as well as providing accommodation for the drivers and changing rooms for other uses.

 

Ferrari clients can rent part of the house/apartment at Fiorano, this service exists since several years. The factory even produced a special book about the house, showing the interior and rooms, etc. Many Asians have rented in the past two years.
