On my 355 I have potenza's. They are 12 years old in the front and 10 years almost to the day (from manufacture) on the rear. 8.5 and 8 respectively on the tread. So, symetric or high mileage tires are not needed for me. Need to get new tires now (they aren't cracked or have defects but 10 years it is). Really need to find 19" champion or Modular mesh rims and just move to that.

Another (minor) thing to consider is AD08R is 1lb each heavier in the front and 2lbs each heavier in the rear than PSS in stock sizes.

Probably doesn't matter but since I have started somewhat of an obsession with weight loss I wouldn't want to add challenge wheels and offset the loss with tire weight (and at the worst spot to gain weight).

I was looking up more race oriented street legal tires the other day hoping I would find something lighter than PSS but haven't found anything yet.

My next tires are going to be Sport Cup 2 on 19" rims. Tires are lighter than Super Sports.

I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports on both my Superleggera and Speciale. Soon they will also be on my 348. Best summer tire out at the moment.

P-zero is developing a new tire with more grip than the current trofeo. The new trofeo is being tested on the new huracan and mclaren 720.

Why not just put them on your 18 inch rims.

That my plan, my next tire will be MPSC 2 with the widest spec for the stock wheel. I used to have them on my old 12C ( I think they where; 91y and 103y rating ) they where a little stiffer than regular P zero but great overall tire with good track performance.

I have P-Zeros on my Jag F-Type R that came as OEM. I cannot wait to ditch them. They are almost wore out after 9000 miles, poor grip and noisy. I am going with PSS when the time comes. Allot of the F-Type R guys appear to be going to the PSS. I had the PSS on my previous F355 and loved them.

    +1 on MPSS

My DD has 550ish RWHP and came stock with MPSS. Amazing how well they grip, and do surprisingly well in the rain for what they are as well.

Crap! Just installed a full set of Pirelli pzeros cause it is what Pirelli recommended for the f355 and now I read this thread.

Unless you're an aggressive driver you probably won't notice the difference anyway. :)

:D :D I meant that Pirelli recommends standard pzeros for the f355 instead of Sportier tyres like the corsas that's why I installed them.

Going on a trip to the nordschleife next month so we'll see how they perform, other than that the car is used on public roads 99%.

My guess is you will like your pirellis just fine.

I'm putting on a set of new PSSs in a couple of weeks- the former owner put pirellis on the car about 8+ years ago on my car- most of any difference I feel will be from fresh rubber vs. changing to Michelin PSS from the Pirellis on there now..

Probably at least half of us have to change the tires due to age vs. actual visible wear- most of the immediate improvement is just from having tires that aren't a decade old :)

I've had Mpss on my F355, and now have Potenza RE-11's. Haven't driven too hard on the Potenzas but they're good cruising tires and not loud. MPSS are great too.

I've recently put Michelin Cup2's on the McLaren 12c and 997TT doing some light tracking. SUPER happy with these tires, much stickier than SS or the RE-11's and the Cup2's are actually not nearly as bad as I thought they'd be in 50 degree rain. Also, after 3 track days in the 12c there isn't any visible wear except on the right front outside edge as there are 3 sharp lefthander hairpins on my track.

    TL/DR: Wish I'd put Cup2's on the F355.

My tire guy told me about the PS4S- but in the stock size I need for the 355, it probably wouldn't be available for a few months. For a 355 spider that doesn't see any track time and that has 8+ year old Pirellis on it, I figured I'd just go ahead and set up an appointment for a set of the soon-to-be-old design PSS, which I'm sure will suite me just fine :)

By the way, someone mentioned the RE-11- I had those on my 360 coupe and I was very pleased with them! Funny, I never thought about them for the 355- everyone seems to talk about the PSS for the 355, and the RE-11 was the hot tire in the 360 section (at least a few years ago when I bought them, don't know what people chatter about today for the 360 as I'm not in that section of F-chat quite as often nowadays). The RE-11 just seemed to fit the nature of my 360 (which I tended to drive harder/faster) to me, but I'm clearly no tire expert ;)
