Apologies for the confusion, I hoped my description made it apparent but clearly not.

The next morning, a very early morning stroll at dawn on delivery day.

Looks totally awesome - but what a bunch of saddos we are - did EF perhaps cure cancer, was he a top paediatric brain surgeon, eliminate the common cold, break the human genome, sort out the Middle East, maybe eliminate poverty.

No he designed a few racing cars and then great road cars for rich people !

He probably created a lot of motivation for many individual to become successful, create wealth for them and for others through innovation, employment...

But I think that's not the subject, let's not spoil Tim's joy through this experience :)

I think for anyone who appreciates Ferrari and Ferrari history this is probably right up there on the list of things. Me, I'd walk around there and cast my mind back to Gilles, Lauda and all the greats that have driven around there.

Perhaps the only thing I would have added to this experience is having either Dario or Raffaela take me around Fiorano in my own car.

You are so right, saddos we are, but it also shows the power and positive impact one man can have on the world and his industry which, let's face it, has been pretty much unquantifiable and for the good.

You mean Raffaele as Raffaela would be a female.

Here is Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni (left) with Ferrari test driver Raffaele De Simone in front of Carrozzeria Cremonini in Lesignana (Modena) 4 July 2016.

Love it Tim, just funny. We (and I include me) get excited about decisions from a chair when we should rate a long suffering geriatric nurse on 25,000 a year higher. Or James Dyson - now there is a man.

Super excited to see your car when do we please?

I suppose it's because it is part of history that is past and so becomes legendary and takes on an even greater importance than at the time. A little like the death of a great artist and the subsequent explosion in interest, appreciation and values.

Delivery day has dawned on the thread, but I have to wait until I get to the office tomorrow to try and resurrect some pictures, so hopefully will post then, such as I have with a broken camera. Thankfully there was also a professional photographer in attendance and I will receive his work in due course.

And after this endless build up, it can only really be a disappointment........

The office and the desk you had the privilege of contemplating and touching in the intimacy, hides some other secrets that were only revealed after Enzo’s death . Enzo used also the space for hours and hours to write hundreds of love letters and make very long regular telephone calls to a woman he was completely obsessed with and very deeply in love.

Enzo Ferrari had an official wife Laura, that gave him a son, Dino, and also a long-term mistress, Lina Lardi, that gave him a second son, Piero. But that secret woman to whom he gradually revealed his deeper intentions and many times swear that his passion for her was consuming him completely, always refused him. She is the lady in that picture below and her name is Fiamma Breschi a native of Florence and she was still a star-struck teenager when she met Musso in 1952. Within a short time Musso had left his wife and two children, and she was with him when he died at the Rheims circuit.

After Musso's death, in the 1958 French grand prix, she became one of Ferrari's own women. And finally, until Ferrari himself died in 1988, she acted as his spy, one of a network of people whose intelligence-gathering allowed him to control the little empire that became the most powerful legend in motor racing.

For the record, this two tone painted Dino is 246 GT Coupé Scaglietti chassis #00552, registered new 14 January 1970 in the name of the first owner Mrs Annita Vari, born in Rome on the 16th November 1917, resident at Via Turate 207 in Monterotondo, Italy. She had paid Italian Lire 4'850'000.

A strange scheme, no? The colour scheme makes it look like some panels are in primer rather than paint. An early fore runner of today's two tone schemes.

Original exterior color of Dino #00552: Nero 20-B-50 (black) with verde (green) roof. The only two-tone painted Dino. Interior was Bianco (white).

When I looked at the picture for a moment I wondered if this was Miss Fiamma's Dino but you've just confirmed is Mrs Annita's.
