I know the green don't match the gold car... I took them off my 488 and had them in storage so instead I've decided to store them onto the Dino C&F. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Not exactly vanity but a fun DMV story behind the plates on my 1975 Maserati Bora... Went to the local DMV with all paperwork. Waited in line, got called up to a clerk's window. Classic bureaucrat: A portly African-American lady in a flowery blouse, peering over the top of her horn rim glasses. I hand her the paperwork and she gives me the once-over as she inspects the title transfer, insurance, registration application.. and says: "A Maserati, huh? That sounds like a fancy car." I have no idea where this is going, so I'm all "Uh-huh, it's great" and keep smiling.. "I like fancy cars. A fancy car should get fancy plates, don't ya think, hon?" I'm like "Sure!" "Let me see what I can find for ya." After a couple minutes she came waddling back and slapped these on the counter - '1975' plates with no vanity charge. What a sweetheart. Here is my K, which I had in Fort Lauderdale 2004-2007. Getting the Khamsin plate was effortless, $50 to DMV and zoom the plate arrived. The word was not centered though but no matter, I was very happy with that finishing touch. It is now in Holland and has been repainted a lighter shade of gold which I also like and a friend ordered this personalized Khamsin artwork for me, a fantastic gift, a cherished posession I love, thanks Mr Z My favorite DMV story was with a lady just like Art describes a few posts above but not for this car, for a 560SEL a friend lent me long term for a symbolic Dollar so when the lady read the price she said "You got a Benz for a Dallah?!"
