Hmmmm...488 looks better everyday.
Wow. I was really, really, really wanting one of these. Now, I really, really, really do not!! Dissapoining, unless this is a really bad angle for the car.
So the headlights are not headlights- in the front. That is an air scoop to divert "massive airflow" through the hollow doors. But I agree with slm, was all prepared to write a big fat deposit for this- but now, excitement has waned.
This illustration looks a lot better but you can see there is some oddness in the two. Aggressive? Yes. Pretty..... not sure yet. I think one thing that makes the photo look weird is the completely black roof and the blacked out air intakes by the headlights which makes the headlights look huge. That may just be the photo. Man- im hoping for better looking photos tomorrow at the official reveal. Otherwise, will definitely wait a year or so, let it drop 30% and pick one up on the cheap. bummed. Was really hoping to like this car more than I do based on these photos.
Official reveal happens at ~8am New York time tomorrow when the full press release and photos will appear, along with photos from the show floor. What we are looking at here is the result of someone shoving their camera through the drapes at Geneva to steal a quick peek. >8^) ER
Based on the photo, i am ok with the headlight part, but the rest of the front the way the bumper works so massive, looks like a hovercraft or a boat. However we spin it, Huracan performnte is the king, epic performance, Na motor and great cohesive styling.
Cohesive styling and not bad looking but nothing that really says "I've never seen anything like this before" Image Unavailable, Please Login
Having seen the car in person at one of the reveals, the headlights stood out to me as the only real iffy design element. From some angles they looked much better than others. Agree, the photo above does not show the best view.
Frankly disappointed in the HurcPerf - there have already been aftermarket companies making the Huracan look better and more aggressive than this does for the past two years. >8^) ER
I felt that way about the 458's "gull wing" vanes but then everyone copied the gull wing shape one way or another. Even Kia's have it in the front bumpers now. It could catch on or it could look weird. Hard to tell. But it's innovative and you have to admire someone pushing the limits. My issue is really the proportions and the weird lines that seem to go everywhere. There's no one direction to the visual energy. Look at the original F1 and you see its consistent. In this car it seems like they paid more attention to aero over styling. I personally think super car makers pay too much attention to aero and not enough in making something great looking. Race cars are inherently ugly. Street cars should make your heart thump. Who really cares if it only goes 200 instead of 210? The only people who care are the Marketing guys.
Agree. Looks like they took the holes off the Ferrari shark nose F1 car and put them where the lights should be.
My first impression is that it looks pretty good. I don't love it....but I like it. I've also learned, for me at least, I need to give it a little time and see more pics, different colors, etc. When I first saw pics of the Speciale I thought Ferrari had made a big mistake with the design....today I love the way it looks!
Yes, I do love the people who convince themselves that a complex three dimensional shape is awful from one or two compromised photos. Almost three decades of looking at car photos in magazines and online before seeing a car in person and only then truly being able to appreciate its styling have taught me that's not a wise approach. >8^) ER
That pic makes the car look horrible. I'll reserve judgment for more pics/seeing it in the flesh. I thought from the start though and posted here that the 675 is far better looking.
In person it looks pretty good. Not beautiful but very good, esp considering the performance. Whether you need that is another thing. the front allows p1 performance with 200 less HP.
