So, having now had more time to look at the pics, my opinion (not that it means anything of value) is that when I first saw the colour, I wondered if it was really right for the car and felt that I would not have ordered it. The interior is sublime, and so well thought through - the sheep material, the colour and the mix of beige and dark colours, plus the real piece de resistance - the matte carbon. Whenever I see matte carbon I love it, especially in the special cars. It seems so much more purposeful than the glossy stuff. In one of the final pictures, with the door aperture and interior showing, it seems that the mix of exterior colour, matte carbon and the seat colours, is just one of those combinations that really does work well. Not easy to spec because it takes a bit of vision and forethought - something that will make it all the rarer and enduringly interesting and appealing. What a great job you did. I think it is the best interior I have seen on a TDF, and suits this particular car really well.
I don't usually post here but this is a really beautiful spec. Lovely body color, interior is the highlight and complements the paint well. The whole interior is SO balanced, spec'd with such a delicate touch. Bravo.
Hand down the nicest TDF to date! Truly! Bravo Tim [emoji122] [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji485][emoji485][emoji485]
Wonderful story and beautiful car! Congratulations! Enjoy in good health Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would love to see Luca and Schumis signature on mine but i would also like yours from Kimi and Seb... What a great detail! I'm glad for you.
Truly stunning Tim. You must be so chuffed and relieved that it turned out so well. The paint is very special and the Pecora seats are stunning. Well done and Congrats!
For me the most thought out TDF spec I have seen. The attention to detail and the small touches really make this car looks incredibly "wow" in the pictures. Incredibly elegant colour which seems be a great middle ground between Pozzi and some of the grey's. An amazing picture would be this car parked next to Camlet's TDF. Really like the interior and the colour contrasts look great. Matt carbon looks great, I don't think gloss would have worked as it would have distracted ones eye too much. Congrats.
Tim congratulations for the fantastic combination you've achieved which emanates classicism, style and an exquisite good taste. This blue color for is rather aphrodisiac LOL, and one of the prettiest I've ever seen and the interior my goodness, matches to perfection the rest of the car. I wish you many hours of enjoyment and happiness driving and contemplating this beauty and I bet this marriage is one of those for life.
Really fantastic story ,and car. Thanks for sharing. Hope this is not a stupid question: Do you get to drive her home? I guess too much snow etc this time of year.
Wow! Totally taken back at everyone's kind words-Thank you all so much- VERY gratifying. As I said, 'launching' the car after this build up was setting me up for trouble especially to such a knowledgeable and critical audience. Daunting. Anyway, on a PC so a few more images in an effort to show the colour, but you will see from these how it seems to shift. Ferrari 360CS is accurate when he says it is half way between a blue and grey dependent on the light, in some lights, as you will see in a later post, its almost a darker GT, but frankly even I am confused so can understand why Ferrari messed up the colour sample first time round. First off here is the sample, and then the production line pics and you can immediately see the problem cameras seem to have with this colour. The sample block is pretty accurate so I freaked when I received the second shot as it looked alarmingly like the colour Ferrari had sent me in error. Whilst I was tempted by a dark blue, Scotzia or whatever, I wanted a bit more 'pop' and also wanted the contrast between the carbon exterior elements and the paintwork to be clearer. Grigio Titanio 3 layer was also a possibility up until the last, but I felt it was possibly too ordinary as no one but me would know it was special, and then I also looked at Blu Ahrabian until I received the sample, so I knew I was after a blue grey of some sort a darker GT. If the Factory had not messed up on the paint I would have had my car last September, the aim being to hit the passes. Upshot was that it was ready six weeks ago and we managed to delay delivery until now but this was not the moment for blasting through wet and icy roads, especially in such a knife edge car, and just sitting on an Autobahn is not what I really wanted to experience. Back to the UK on a transporter and then yet another collection this weekend. However, it was such a beautiful day at Maranello that I took the car for a work out on the test route up into the hills. What a car, I know this has often been said, but this is a classic, somewhat reminding me of the F40. The patter of stones in the wheel wells, the super quick steering, razor throttle, you have to adapt and coax and be very precise which coming from my daily London drive, a Brabus Smart, does take some recalibration! You will have heard this all before, no body roll, just very pointy and flat. and then there is that sound.......
I guess that drive in the hills will never to be forgotten. She is a 'keeper' for sure. The transporter sounds like the best way,i remember almost getting stuck up in the snow/ice on those passes...in May 94! Drive safe and enjoy.
And now some more external shots showing the different colours, mostly taken whilst being wrapped. I confirm this blue is aphrodisiac and one of the prettiest I ever seen. The wheels beautiful and the calipers discreet as I like…… Keep marveling us…...
That must have been on the icing on the cake! I am seriously "wowed" by the colour. Red has always been my preferred colour but this colour and the way it avoids being "anonymous" like some of the greys seem to become, without being too bright like something like Abu Dhabi blue. In some ways reminds me of softer less bright blue Mirabeau.
That car is, without question, the most beautiful F12tdf in existence. Well done Tim...*slow golf clap*
