But why do sports car ads seem to always show their car going through water?, I'm thinking that's the last place I want to be having fun with my car.

 

They lost me with the whole water crap. More car and less theatrics.

 

...childish and typical drama inspired nonsense.

I think the brand is in for a very serious correction.

 

It looks much better in the video footage than the released pics. The design is growing on me.

Aside from the cheesy marketing, those front fender bulges are delicious.

 

Just like the Lincoln Commercial....at least they are driving it in the forward direction!

 

I take it as a metaphor for the force of the car - if you've been in larger waves you know that pushing feeling.

 

What actually happened was that there were these low-flying pelicans that the driver was swerving to miss and...

I can see running the car on a wet road to show the aerodynamics. As in throwing up a nice rooster tail due to the tunnel and tail kick up showing it making down force. Unfortunately this was not evident in the film.

I think Ferrari is trying to say that the car is big enough and heavy enough to double as a ship. TOOT! TOOT!


I like the first half of the video (before the ocean scene) and I think the car looks far better in this video than it does in the early press photos. However, I still think the 812 is a step backwards in styling from the F12...
