In the real life the design makes more sense compared to the first pictures. The lines flows all the way from the front to the rear. So the rear fits the car really great. But the feel between this and a Berlinetta when you see it isn't much different. Yes the rear is more aggressive but otherwise they give me the same emotional tickles. The interior on the Berlinetta is way more better. The knobs and buttons on the Superfast isn't where it should be in feel and materials. But I think the biggest thing with the Superfast is the new engine together with the power train. It will be a rocket!
Oh and the wheels - for the 1st time I prefer he standard wheels - look like F12B optional forged ones - look better than these twisted ones.....both annoyed and excited at the same time.....
For me they feel they same as in Berlinetta. I personally prefer the racing seats that's in the red one. Not sure what the exterior color is on that one. Never seen it before. It says Extra Range.
That "lip" at the bottom of the rear window is there to control the air flow going over the rear spoiler. Without it, a higher spoiler would have been needed to achieve the same aerodynamic fluidity - something that would have compromised the overall design of the back.
Maybe, but the switch gear is distinctly less quality that the F12b. For example the buttons on the door are the same as they are on the Lusso. Much cheaper looking and feeling. Not the end of the world but you can see a drop in quality in my opinion.
Interesting. Did they have the standard wheel on show at Geneva? I don't like the twisted ones either. Too boy racer for me. I think the tdf style will look much better.
I think it looks great in most of these pics. I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh on 13th-14th at Geneva and can't wait to spec mine!
Noted and thanks for that as I, and some others including some dealers, were lost as to why this is designed in such way
I very much hope so but its just possible its true given the rush to have the cars ready. Ferrari, if you are reading this, PLEASE DONT MESS AROUND WITH THE INTERIOR QUALITY FOR THE SAKE OF A FEW EUROS. Personally I would prefer to pay a few extra euros and keep the quality of the fittings, as, for sake of argument, a couple of thousand euros at this price point is irrelevant.
Here's Matt from carwow.co.uk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ6n-djlJrc I guess the custom luggage set is going to cost at least US$20,000
First, no offense meant to anyone. My only point is that the design has progressively improved over the decades. And by improve, I mean, sharpened and become more aggressive. Ferrari's should look like sharks, not whales. Yes also busy but I believe in the flesh it will work just fine and the surfacing will delight. McLaren on the other hand, they need some serious design help. +1 Since when have Ferrari fans opined about the past? I feel like this is when the testarossa was released. It was the end of the world as we knew it. "We want our Daytona, this thing is a monstrosity!" the old men said. All the while the people cheered! -F
In one of the youtube videos in Italian, the presenter states that he has just had confirmation that the price will be 292,000 Euros. See video below at 4 mins 30 secs. He says it very quickly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZzMMcMK4jI&t=9s&index=5&list=PLMvktctWQ05vRPnohpnHZVOwHbahMIj8z
All of which goes to what I posted as being the confirmed UK price of approx. £250k. I wonder if our US and Antipodean friends are going to find the car cheaper than the F12 due to currency?
I'm afraid this is true that Ferrari is saving cost for the interior, not just Ferrari the whole FCA cars are all doing this now days, because of Mr Sergio Marchionne, he is crazy about saving cost for FCA, doing everything to shake off 4 billion debt, so the interior is the best part for doing this, use the most cheap plastics for cutting cost. I remember the former interior designer for Maserati Quattroporte said to the media that Mr Marchionne cut so much cost for the Quattroporte's interior, for example the clock on the cockpit supposed cost 100 USD, but he told him I only give you 10 and you have to do whatever you can do to make it happen! He said the actual cost of that car is not more than 30K this is not surprise when Mr Marchionne replaced Mr Montezemolo and operating Ferrari in his ideal
I would hardly describe the 812 as anything - I'm sure it's a fantastic performer - you don't like the design direction - fine. Others do and that's the nature of progress. If I look at Ferraris over the years, I think some look fantastic and there are in my opinion poor. Even some of the ones I think are good looking have features that don't sit quite right with me. I stopped buying Ferraris for quite a period after having a very short stint with a 348 which I thought was a complete disaster - even Datsuns were better back then. Got back into Ferrari when I was given a 599 to test drive and since then the performance and quality have improved and I've been buying Ferraris since then. For the 812 - I think the rear needs to be properly specced and then I think the car is fine and I actually prefer the overall look to the F12 and I'm sure the performance and the drivability to actually use the car's power will be much improved.
