That is correct and customer built cars end of the year (in US) 4Q delivery (Nov-Dec). Will be nice Christmas for those that custom order theirs.

BTW I asked the designer why those black pieces under the tailpipes. I don't like them. He said the 720S shoots flames. Like all the time. They are using fuel to cool the engine so without those pieces the bumper would melt. Oh, ok then! Seriously who doesn't want flames lol

Nice! All it needs is some red to make it the MP4/4 livery. They shouldn't make McLarens in any other colors [emoji3]

Kudo's to Mac for keeping accessory costs under control. Some of these are much cheaper than Ferrari for the exact same thing. The MSRP is less than I would have guessed.

IMO, park assist would be a must with this car. I just saw one demo'd on a Mercedes a few days ago and what these systems do today is just amazing. Takes the worry out of "super car" parking.

    $284,745 MSRP 720s
$2,690.00 Exterior Door Upper - Gorilla Glass

Completely agree with you. My first thought when seeing the show car was how awkward the lights looked. IMO the "eye socket" really hurts the look of the front of the car. I liked the 650S lights much better.

Yep hate the headlights. Surely traps air too ??

And the rear is just too busy. Side view is okay but IMO a massive backwards step in the styling department.

It seems that these days most new models have been a step backwards in the styling department. Unless you are a fan of busy, overstyled design, new models in many cases have been looking worse than their predecessors.

IMO 488 looks worse than 458, 812 looks worse than F12, 720S looks worse than 650S. Although I will say that the Hurucan looks better than the Gallardo, and the 991 911 looks better than the 997.

The new Pininfarina Fittipaldi car mockup looks great. So its possible to design and astheticaly pleasing car still.

Part of the issue may be that race cars these days are so fugly.

imo i agree 458 was way better than 488 and same for 991 vs 997. but i think 720 is lightyears better than 650, gallardo slightly better than huracan, and f12/812 are tied. its all personal taste and can never account for that!

They are air intakes, doesn't block air. The air goes in the headlights and out via the side door blade. Avoids having the big air intake on the side of the car. On the 675LT they look great but 488 is a mess so its a challenge for all turbo cars. The 720S needs more air than 675 and I think 675 reached the limit how big side air intakes can be. Besides they create a lot of drag.

The more I see it the less I like it. Guess they'll come up soon with a revision to improve the front an d rear but it'll still look like a bubble car

This to me is why I have a problem with current "super car" design.

I really don't give a crap if something reduces drag. What I care about is what it looks like. If it looks ugly then I don't want it. I'm not paying 300K for something that I have to explain to everyone "what the hell is that thing?"

These cars are more designed today by computer than by person. It's not a step forward. It's a giant step backwards.

The more we worry about "aero" getting a car to go 220 MPH the more we destroy what it looks like at 0 MPH
