he DDis also from RPM. Looks like the expected auction price is lower than the $700K they were asking.

I have an article written by Alex Postan, who co drove with Barry Robinson in the record event, held at Millbrook on 15/16 October 1983.

The article was published in the Lamborghini Club UK magazine.

In the article Alex confirmed a factory dynomotor reading of 417bhp for the engine and a maximum lap speed of 168.6mph at Millbrook, running without wing.

Motor magazine also tested the car at Millbrook at a later date and with wing recorded 155.1mph, which appears consistent with Alex's maximum without wing.

I can scan the article if anyone is interested and pictures of the car at the London Motor Show.

375 > 417, the difference between a standard and a factory blueprinted engine.

2 different cars. 210 fuel injected with US bumpers (did that include the premium & was it a sale?) & the other was a red dd @ 335k that did include the premium.

No. I would hate to see these get traded like collectors items. They're mean to be driven!

I've been busting my ass for the last two or three years, trying to afford one. I really wanted your black one. That car was beautiful! Was it as fun as most say it is?

Prices on Countach's have been steadily falling the past two years. I think when they were at their peak, it was driven by speculators and not true collectors. Now that the speculators have bailed out and some lost on the proposition, the value is starting to reflect what a true enthusiast is willing to pay for one. I for one would not have been a prospective buyer at the former inflated prices....the Countach was just not appealing enough to me to spend that kind of money. Just my opinion :)

I think it's been more like the stock market & real estate were such a state of recovery for some time that investors avoided that & went for the classic cars as a whole. Real estate and the stock market are back at gambling, so the big money has moved. It's all cycles.
