If true this is a very serious blow to Ferrari...and i'm not only talking about f.1..i know many won't agree but for me, the latest cars (from a design point o view)are very bad, both the Lusso and the 812 are a disaster compared to the previous versions.

Saw this one coming. As long as we start winning races, road cars are top notch and Ferrari is economically successful I don't care if he decides to crap all over the factory.

 

Marchionne saying he wants to make of Ferrari a real luxury brand, producing not just automobiles. He says for sure they won't make t-shirts, helicopters, hotels or boats but what can they start selling? Any ideas?

Leather bags, sunglasses, watches and shoes? Is that it?

Seems not too big a stretch from what ferrari already put their name on.

I would personally like to see Ferrari fine art, ferrari museums and art colleges.

 

If the pace of the new car is real and a result of changes put in place by Sergio (including ousting Allison), maybe he's a good judge of talent and knows what he's doing.

I agree on styling aspect, but he'll probably sell every one and that's his measure of success.

I was referring to the race team and SF-70H which just may turn out to be an unexpected (to me, anyway) success.

Still, it shows the Italians are front and center as purveyors of expensive lifestyle articles, so Ferrari would be dumb to let that part of the business be undermined by other brands.

Really interesting. I need to read more myself to understand.

 

Easy. If F1 is successful financially so would Liberty. Then Ferrari gets a piece of the pie no matter who wins. Also, Liberty has to give Ferrari an ear on what they think should be done. Lastly, look for Liberty to announce the end of the super payment to Ferrari-- making a PR stunt out of it and claiming "its now fair to all".

 

I get the logic. It just doesn't sound like the numbers add up. Alas, I'm no economist. Lol
