I agree.

It does show the market for low mile examples....there is always someone out there who skews the curve

 

That makes me feel fantastic about my car! I am sure the sell is less than the ask, but with my lower miles and GTS, woohoo!

But alas, it is not setting the market and the seats are a huge add.[emoji20]

I have to admit the cars in pristine overall condition minus the major thats due

If I absolutely loved the 355 model I would just do the major and keep her but in reality I only
like the 355 lukewarm at best.

 

I was going to buy a 430 or 360.... but they just are not as attractive as the 355 to me. Yes the 355 has known issues, like they all do. But it is well documented, strong enthusiast community and absolutely a work of art.

And having sat in a 360/430, I find the windshield too low for my 6'4" frame and the seats they use.

Lol if you think thats funny, some aussies claim there carbon seats were 50k options new lol! Quite funny when the retail price was approx 260k AUD!

 

Looking tempting but I'd be too embarrassed to drive a red\tan Ferrari like everyone else. 😜✌️

I'm tempted to buy another 355 and maybe sell mine or turn it into a track car.

Not many unique spec ones in North America though.

Some beauties in Europe but the prices aren't in tune with what the market here supports.

Funny that 2 weeks ago I posted a blue GTS 98 F1 that sold for $65 on ebay and people made excuses for why it only got $65. Then a 95 black/tan B with 28k on it that sold for $75k or maybe a little less, and again, excuses. Now $70k for a nice car, if the high bidder actually writes the check, is a good number. Guys, get your stories straight. $75 can't suck one week and $70 be a good number the next. It's as I have been saying, prices are down significantly.

On the other hand, $77 all in for that 97 spider at Gooding was a very good number for a black/tan 97 spider with 21k on it and carbon fiber overlays on the dash and console and carbon fiber engine bay shields. I liked how Gooding calls them "desirable". I'd take $75k for my classic, unmolested, Swaters Blu/Tan 95 spider all day long.

I still think this year we will see prices in the $60 to $75k range for an average car unless the car is something special or a real POS. Just my opinion.

 

I paid considerably more for mine, but consider it a special car. I would like for prices to go up, but it may be soft or even softer for awhile.

I passed on a 95 Berlinetta Silver and black at $77. My number for it was $72 and maybe would have gone $75 with mileage close to 25k. Lovely car.

My 1996 GTS, I consider special. While my exhaust is not original, it is glorious!!!

Fine art and other nice things are great prices right now. Wife wants more Picasos or whtever they are called

Hey all -- brand new to the forum, not a current 355 owner but looking to change that soon!

Could use your expertise on this '97 GTB:

1997 Ferrari F355 GTB -

Is the price a little rich for 40k miles? Does the fact that it's a 1-owner car with thorough service records make up for the mileage? I'm sure the major service that's being done before delivery inflates the price somewhat, but not sure whether that's priced-in fairly.

Any issues that are obvious? I know the valve guides have not been replaced, but not sure how critical that is for a '97. Is there above-average leather shrinkage on the interior? The passenger airbag looks a bit wonky to my eye, but that could be normal. Would appreciate any and all advice.

Price is a little high in my opinion. Not only because of the mileage, but because of the work it would need to recondition some parts. One owner is a plus considering original owners seem to be anal about keeping the car well maintained mechanically...and looking at the pile of records it shows.

Engine bay just needs a detail...looks like someone sprayed it down with soap and washed it without drying the engine bay after. Sticky stuff inside...need refinishing, might just be the cigarette ash tray area though? eBay ad says it has had stickys done though. You can see the gunk on the leather.

It's also due for a major but the ad states the price will include a fresh service. I'd negotiate them down to 65k as is, based on the sale above:

And have the service work done yourself. That way you know there's no corners cut to get the car out the door.
