My first thought was a US muscle car. I know your Dad had a Javelin, Australian built I presume. It looks like the back of a US Porsche 944, but I'm certain it's not that. Not a Mitsubishi Scorpion by any chance? So by weird process of elimination, my guess would be a Ferrari 308 then. Otherwise NFI.
Well Sherlock, the Javalin was a chrome bumper car and sold years befor the 365 arrived. No US bumper 944's at this time, though I did have a 89 Turbo in red that had the rear US bumper in the 90's. I also had a Scorpion but it was gone by the time the 365 arrived too. The 308 replaced the 365 so wrong again. Any more guesses? Also, have you booked space in your laundry for tomorrow night?
Jeeeeeeezus, another one with kaleidoscope eyes... https://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Ferrari-512-1978/OAG-AD-14463720/?Cr=8
Yes the law is set to be change from pre 1989 cars , to 25 year old cars , in nine months time , the finer details being evolved as they do in government , but that is the premise . i would imagine it would take a buyer at least six months to emerge , probably more here on the west coast , just 5 hours flight to K.L. Theres also plenty of Australians working in Oil in the Malaysian seas who will qualify for the personal import /owning for a year . Which will be mute in nine months time anyway. The car is advertised in the UK as well , where the import process is not as restricted . All of the Ferrari Dinos left Kuala Lumpur in the last few years to the U.K. due to huge prices being achieved there , and the lower prices being asked in Malaysia. I imagine with the huge prices being asked here for 80s Models , the same will start to happen in Australia as the year draws to a close .
So folks like us can't identify the owner and therefore possibly gazump the dealer,if any of us were potential buyers @ $700K.... ....mind you,I reckon Mike would know who the current owner is anyway.
Got me thinking (yeah yeah I know, first time for everything!!), if the advertised one is as original as the owner says wouldn't that mean it has the original sodium valves ? That would have to be done before I'd buy it
It's got that '80s rubber bumper thing going hasn't it. It looks familiar, I just can't picture it. Fiat X19 could be a goer.
Hah, my first car was a 1.5l 5spd X1/9. Changed the chromodoras for some 15" Simmons OM15s in gold. Red/tan but with red carpets lol.
My brother (Ausdino) has been going through old photos and scanning them. Here's my first car and also my Dad's (he built it on a Austin 7 frame in the early 50's). Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, I believe it was. More for you. My Dad's TF1250 bought new in '54. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Your dad's car looks good but the wheels let it down, they look like they are for low profile tyres ??? Plus the knock off hubs look too small for the wheel size from that photo
Aaaahh, hence my confusion,I was thinking the bloody obvious...instead,you had 2 Fiats facing each other. Loverley verde, this is now Bill M's ??
