I tell you something F50 owners, have any of you driven/own the 333SP?
Both cars share the same V12, and I'd LOVE to know what that F50 engine would be like fully unrestricted and allowed to rev and rev and rev....

At 30 secs it's Art in the most beautiful piece of his collection.
It seems, and I repeat it seems, that after a pro driver crashed it on track Ferrari requested the car for repair and refitted and upgraded it to the point it now should have around 900bhp.
Chassis 002 and 003 are still at "standard" 750 though...

    P.S.
The track at the end of the video is Thunderhill Raceway near Willows, CA

I recall this from an old thread when chassis #2 came up for sale.

Out of curiosity, any news on where #3 is currently?

Yeah, we already know that you adore the F50, a fantastic motorcar honestly, but please allow others to have their own and contrastive opinions. An Enzo, not to mention the divine LaFerrari, is eons faster, sounds louder and better and are more usable (not practical) cars. My opinion is that all of them are way too fast for normal street driving. I sort of enjoy my E-Type more than any modern super or hyper car. Not because it is better, it clearly isn't and by a long margin, but because the speeds are more sane for the typical B Road. That said, a modern supercar is 10 times more excilarating when you put your right foot down!!!

Aha...I wondered whether it had returned. Would you happen to know whether it headed to the West or East coast?

I haven't driven the Enzo, but certainly agree that it represents a pinnacle of driving experiences among the LE's. Some combination of the sharp but not neurotic handling thanks to a stiff carbon chassis, a sublime manual box and with the hood off, the sound of that V12 @ 8.5k is pretty addictive. There even seems to be some clever aero to allow driving in the rain with the hood off without getting wet...at a certain speed :)

    You driven any of them?

Anyway, I've driven the Enzo quite a few times now, and it's engine sounds like a louder base 599 - because that's what the engine is - an upgraded 599 V12. Furthermore, IMO, I feel the entire car is let down by the dated gearbox too which even in "RACE" mode is painfully slow. Michelotto can put a 430 Scuderia gearbox in there if you wish for about €200,000.

LaFerrari I've not driven in anger so can't tell. Nice noise, and fabulous cabin and feeling (which the Enzo also had). Didn't feel as visceral as the F50 or the Enzo at low speeds - was little too easy, but I'll reserve judgement. Mind you, one place it WILL fall down is rarity - there are around 550 LaFerrari VINs catalogued so they've produced
    a) rather more than the F50
    b) rather more than they said they would. Typical Ferrari BS.

As for the Enzo and the Laferrari, being "faster" - well that's handy for talking big at Ace Cafe.
Not sure about the relevance of "practicality" when it comes to £1m + LE supercars either and to add to that, if the LaF is allowed to sit without charge for 48 hours, the battery is dead and needs to be replaced at a cost of tens of thousands. Hardly practical.

Moreover, I'm not alone, those buying the F50 - namely the market - is in a complete agreement with me. In recent years, the price of the F50 has grown more than the other LE models.

This is the F50 thread after all.

200K for a faster gearbox though!? All it needs is smaller twin plate clutch (lighter) and upgraded software and it should shift at 85ms. 599 GTO might have lighter engine internals to get to the 60ms shifts, not sure...Either way, far quicker than the dreadful slow shifts of normal Enzo.

I'm with you though...F50 all the way for me!

There are more F50 than officially declared units too, by the way.

Anyway I'm with you in saying that the F50 is king

Actually it's the other way round. The 599 was launched in 2006, 4 years after the Enzo and used a detuned version of that car's engine. The gearbox seems slow by today's standards but it is still quicker than any manual shifter.

Regarding all the rest, it's a matter of taste.
