Slower in at MG, rotating the car quicker and thus having it pointing up the hill earlier and getting power down better. Advice from Guido, he's also telling me to barge through at the start, but I'm not brave enough yet.
I wish! Just the minor issue of price... The Indy car is so much fun to drive and so easy to maintain, hard to justify starting again with an F1. But I'll do it eventually
whew, the last race today had everything going on! My RHS mirror decided to come loose on the warm up lap, so it was pointing at the ground Then we discovered that someone in the previous race had dumped all their engine oil on the race line between turns 2 and 3. Obviously following cars in the race had picked up some of the oil and coated the rest of the back section - it was slippery as. I picked up a place at the start (being aggressive as advised) but then had to leave room on my right as I had no mirror and didn't know if anyone was there. When you leave a gap, people dive into it, so I lost a bunch of places on the first lap, in the midst of chaotic close-quarters racing. Horrible feeling blind on my right and, because of my high cockpit sides, no use turning my head. 4 laps to go, I gradually got the places back and finished 7th. Best time "only" 1:36, because I was baulked by Formula Atlantics the whole time. Quite a bit of carnage as cars spun on the oil, but I managed to stay out of trouble and had a blast. I loved starting on the left side of the grid, because I can go around people on the outside of turn 1. Tomorrow morning I'll be back on the right again, so boxed in at that turn. Perfect weather here and same again forecast for tomorrow.
1:33.6 Started 9th, finished 5th Front right tyre delaminated again Fortunately, Stuckeys had a new one in their truck. One more race to go, 10 laps, can't wait
Was the last time you had the tyre issue also at Phillip Island? Good luck for the last race, and great job on the best lap.
No, Eastern Creek in November. I'm suspecting a bad manufacturing batch. Will be raising it with the importer.
I'm actually being a bit more aggressive and finding to my surprise that people are getting out of the way.
4th in the final race, with a 1:33.3 lap Thanks to all the Melbourne fchatters who dropped by our garage. Having breakfast in Holbrook, car in the trailer, no damage & running perfectly. What a great weekend!
it was great to meet you and David, put faces to names finally! glad all went well during the weekend.
