We can give some data to the picture:
Roma's plate was issued at 2 July 1953.
Subsequently, the 0042 M was sold in Florence where he took new FI 91585 plate in September 1956.

Coco Chinetti had a short lived paint shop in Stamford, CT and one of the many family owned cars I watched them paint was this one shown inside the shop itself.
Chinetti Sr. shipped it to the LeMans Museum for display. I am not clear if it was donated.
I also may have seen this same car on display at Retro Mobile this year?

    Hi,

Fantastic! Never seen, but the Aigle website does seem to have some info on it. But nothing after 2004. Having been to Aigle and having seen a few of their cars I think they are unique in many details. Like on that one the placing of the rear license plate (& two lamps for it) on the tunk lid. It seem it originally did have very thin bumpers (the 1952 Geneve show photo).

    Cheers,

    Pekka T.

as I work in Stamford can you recall where that body shop was? I can go around and see what stands there today.

I love that dual paint scheme; it was fairly common on berlinettas in the early 1950s

Too bad it now has these three horrible air outlets in the front fenders.

That's a shame and distorting history and IMO should not have been done.

Just like all Ferrari race cars now have perfect door gaps (if they have doors) and dead straight panels ... sigh.

Yeah weird since an attempt has been made to return it to it's original colours (I think) after reading about the car on the site that Fennicus posted.

Black/silver are not the original colors of 0195 EL.

0195 EL was NOT two tone metallic grey originally.
