Why not just get the major done and then sell?
Went to a nice heavy Italian car show in Dallas Burbs this morning met a nice lady with a really special Spider. 1999, FULL factory Carbon package. Really cool. Not sure of proper color name, but blue with light fawn colored interior body colored piping and thread. Nearly $180k sticker when new. Full luggage, documentation, history, yada, yada, yada. Asking price and she is dead serious $90k. 35k miles, due for service. That is her market [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That car is also for sale a dealer auction site. It's pretty rough with prior paint work. They disclose a lot of the issues on the dealer site.
Right. Looking at eBay add car is "pretty much fully sorted"... Do you know what happened to the car?
Maybe its mechanically sorted, but condition wise it's hardly stellar. For the price though, it's to be expected. So it's all relative. Personally I like the green but it's got to be the worst resale color..
No sir, gated. Sorry, I thought I typed that. Poor proof reading on my part. Ed Waterman in Florida sold her the car 8 years ago. She has been dealing with him for years. My late father and he were friends/acquaintances since high school. Anyway, the car is a good detail away from spectacular. She shows and scored close to 95pts. Very, very minor deducts. Will get some pictures for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rob, Were you the tall guy in the GTS next to Nick's GTS? I was in the 95 Rosso Barchetta Spider a couple cars down from there. I was walking around most of the day with friends so I didn't get a chance to meet any new folks. The guy who brought the Koenigsegg CCXR is a good friend of mine so I was hanging out down there most of the morning. The car you mention is a 1999 gated spider in TDF blue with a blue top and crema interior with TDF blue piping and full carbon interior. The shifter ball is even carbon. She's been around the local FCA chapter for several years so I know her and the car well. It's definitely one of the more unique F355s I've seen. I have it on good authority that it hasn't had a major in quite some time so it's definitely due/overdue. It's none stock, sounds good, and idles smooth for whatever that's worth. You should join the local FCA chapter and come to some events. We do F1 watching parties and a lot of other great events throughout the year. Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet and chat next time. Thanks, Brian
Thanks Brian! Yes, I was parked next to Nick. Marcie's car has a few needs but all factory optioned Carbon package even the shifter! Does have a non-factory over the top audio system. Well done, but a little intrusive. Can be removed[emoji2]. I asked about interior color and she said not Creme on build sheet, some other special color. Would love to see the Window sticker, which she has. Car was ordered by an old money guy in Falls River NJ, when new. Due for service. She drives it and enjoys it for sure. All of our cars have some type of story [emoji16] Will join the FCA. Thank you. Hope to see you around! Cheers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Will join the FCA. Thank you. Hope to see you around! Cheers! Her car is special. No doubt about it. I've seen it after a detail, and it's very nice. Once the major is done, it will be one of the nicest, most unique F355s out there. Glad to hear you're joining the FCA. Look forward to meeting you at some events.
What was wrong with the green car? I noticed it had a white residue on the tailpipes and the passenger side airbag leather was shrunk a bit. What else?
I think main issues is color. I actually like the color combo on the car. People would love it if it were an Aston... Robb
White exhaust pipes are either a sign of running leaded gas or, more likely, indication that ceramic cats are breaking down: ceramic dust.
The auction site disclosed a lot of prior paint work all around the car, some rust, a cracked LF sill plate and more. Again it was a rough around the edges.
I noticed several Ferrari ads on Autotrader that supposedly were for sale at this place. One was a 550 Maranello that an FChatter had for sale on eBay recently that was a no sale, with text verbatim from the eBay ad. I reported them.
This car (that was on ebay) just sold to a dealer and now the dealer has it BACK on ebay... 1995 Ferrari 355 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION | eBay Robb
Looks like it is f-chat wide. Every link you click on takes you to a viglink shopping search. Yea, F-chat.
