    Hi everyone!

I am shopping around for my second Ferrari, I already have a F360 Modena and now planning to add a Cali to the stable.

I found a very nice 2011 Cali and on the specks sheet it says that it has the Magneride suspension. I thought that option was only available from 2012 and on. Can anyone confirm?

Also, which year to avoid for the transmission issues?

I had been using the search functionality and it seems that this happened on early models, the service director from the dealership where I take my car told me that.

    Thanks in advance!

Magneride was available on '11s. Mine had it. I would not get one without it. It both rides better and handles better. Amazing.

The transmission issues seem to have been mostly on '10s. But any could develop problems. Early, Ferrari was not allowed to open and fix them. They are now, so if you have a problem, it's usually not a $20k replacement transmission, but a few thou for a replacement controller, which seems to be the most common failure if the transmission fails at all.

My Cali was from 2010 and had already Magneride and as far as I know this feature was available as an extra since 2009. Transmission issues are something you find in Calis and also in other models. In 2016 my Cali had a transmission problem due to a faulty speed sensor of the gear-box main shaft and when the car was being repaired at my dealer, under the extended warranty, there was next to it a F12 from 2013 exactly with the same problem. Talking with my dealer senior mechanic that is qualified to repair the transmissions, at the time he told me that he has opened and repaired faulty DCT's from different Ferrari models as recent as 2014 and the problem, invariably, has to do with faulty sensors. Because even the simplest repair of a DCT is something that will cost minimum around $7.000, my only advice is get an extended warranty if you don't want to be faced with a potential very big bill.

    Hmm. Let's see...

Went to my.ferrari.com, then clicked on Register as Owner (being my first, that was a totally cool feeling!), I did not have a PIN # (had radio code, but not sure that is what they wanted), so I followed the "I Don't Have A PIN #" route, and then answered the various questions until the computer stopped harassing me.

I did that when i got my car, but nothing is there and there doesn't seem to be a way to "add a car " to get the detail you have ...

Odd. Did you have a my.Ferrari.com account before that? I did for F1 news and such, and I do recall it was a bit of a pain to add the Cali to my existing account, so I used one of my other emails to register my Cali as an owner.

When you signed up, did it ask you for all sorts of info about your car - VIN, where you bought it, date of purchase, etc.? Sorry I can't be of more help.

Same here, even when I was the second owner, they asked me for the VIN and a picture of the owner manual first page.

Likewise, I was owner # 2. I don't remember the picture, but I do recall a series of questions that would be specific to an owner/car, and then a wait for a few days (I assume to confirm the responses?)...T
