Spent yesterday afternoon attempting to get my car back from the carby guy... Checked Translink website for train details, no warnings, delays etc. Good to go. Get to Woombye station and a bloke waiting there says they're running buses down to Beerwah (about 3 stops down) because of damaged lines. So OK bus turns up On time and off we head. Get there to find the train had left 2 minutes before, without waiting for the bus bringing the passengers from the stations up the line! WTF? So we have to wait 30mins for next train, OK it arrives on time. But then we sit there for 20 minutes past the departure time when they announce 'due to storms etc' this train is cancelled and next departure will be at 15:42 (bearing in mind we passengers had turned up for a 13:42 train). This is total bull**** because the line is the one this train we 're sitting on has just come up and it is a single line, NO other trains are on it. By now I realize it's unlikely I can get to the workshop before they close so I call and say I can't get there and have to turn around to head home. Go card charges me $10 for sitting on the platform for an hour and a half. Finally get home after 5 hours going now where...
I have night mares about that sort of thing happening, after I missed a plane I was listed on standby for and they didn't make a final boarding call. It haunted me for the last 30years..
