Were these also used on a BMW? Someone give me a Series and Year(s) and I might be able to find some .....
This has been discussed in the past before,the 328 mirror switch looks similar to the BMW switch used in E30 series but is different. The BMW switch facia casing is angled as it was fitted into the door pull IIRC? The 328 switch casing is flat. It is the "holy grail" of 328 parts unfortunately but the ask $ in the Ebay ad is drug money! Grim
Is it worth contacting the seller and saying that the price isn't the problem - but you need a matching pair?
In case the casing is still o.k. and the issue is that electrical contact seems poor than just open it, clean it and it will likely work well for another 30+ years. The vaseline/grease inside is dried and the messing contacts are green corroded which needs removed with a fine grid sandpaper. Put it together using acid-free vaseline that protects against corrosion and is important when refitting in order to keep the very small parts in position. When putting top and bottom together I used a thin hard plastic sheet that I put inbetween and when the parts were in position I slowly pullen the plastic sheet out. I forgot to tell that opening the casing needs to be done with greatest care since the small springs like to jupmp out and have a surprising reach whilst the balls like to follow.
Here there are many, but they ask 1k euro each!! It's jus for 328, BMW one it's just similar, but different. If you want one, you have to pay big money Ciao

Reduced now to still an eye watering amount £1600 Alfer thanks for the advice about stripping down these switches, I wish I had read your reply two years ago, as when I opened my switch up, those tiny ball bearings and springs went all over the kitchen floor, took ages to find them all. Switch still working fine
Wow, $US2000 for an small used part...Maybe instead of selling the Ferrari as whole just part it out LOL
I read about a trick not long ago where if you have to disassemble something like this that's prone to explode, you put the part into a large, transparent plastic bag, and then disassemble it inside the bag.
Now that's so simple it's a genius idea, I just had no idea what was inside it until I opened it up though. Great tip thanks

I'm looking for more information/methods for putting my switch back together after cleaning it. I have identified all the parts thanks to Alfer's post, used Vaseline to hold the parts in place, but cannot secure the copper strip on top of the large spring without dislodging the ball bearings atop the small springs. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
It's just very fiddly and you need patience plus I had another pair of hands to lower the PCB into it final position and clip it together. There is no knack just patience and fiddly, it helps I have same fingers and not sausage hands
I put it all together with sticky vaseline and kept it together with a thin hard plastic shim. When assembling the 2 main components i slowly pulled the plastic shim out.
Another success story, thanks to everyone for all the pointers. The switch is now working like new. My reassembly problems went away when I recruited a second pair of hands. In addition, I found it very helpful to drill two holes (1 and 5/8) into a 2x4 stud (dont know what you call that in Europe) to accommodate the two knobs on the front of the switch and thereby provide a stable base. A couple of rubber bands around the switch flange firmly held the switch to the 2x4.
