Never saw a 737 look so small!

That's what really struck me - it looks like the engine nacelles on the A380 are the same diameter as the 737 fuselage.

On Friday 3/24 that A380 landed right after we did in our little MD80, I watched it taxi across our path and the A380 didn't look THAT big out in the middle of the giant DFW airfield. Then when I was leaving DFW on 3/26 the A380 was at the gate next to that 737 and it really emphasized just how big the A380 is.

Now if you have to take off behind one, how long does it take for the A380 wake vortices to subside?

Assuming you are in most any other jet you'll be in the air prior to the lift off pt of the 380 and above them during climb, so no bother.

We say 2 minutes for a heavy, 3 for a medium, 4 for a light.

Looks normal to me .. That's exactly what it looks like when flying downunder.. once you go past the equator things go nuts from there.. only flat-earthers would think otherwise ;)
