    Dear Marcel,

I quoted the Ghia Aigle website in case someone did not want to click the link and read it there. If they have wrong information there I am sure you can contact them and correct it. I believe they have based that information on the publications of yourself and Mr. Urban.

Here it is again, if incorrect it would be good to clear it out:

Carrosserie Ghia Aigle - Ferrari 195/212 Inter Coupé 1951-1952

    Cheers,

    Pekka T.

Understand who can? This is indeed quite contradictory.... Who brings clarity in the original colour(s) of 0195 EL?

Trivia: Harry Morrow: Former owner of Autobooks, Burbank, Ca; used to race an open-wheel car back in the day, and owned 0195EL for many years, until pried loose by
Mark Dees, one of a number of heirs to the Lloyd oil fortune, whom I met when we were both in the L.A. City Atty's office. We became good pals, and ran the MM in 1989 with a Chrysler. Mark used to host an annual Ferrari party at the family ranch, one of the best club events of the year. Harry and Mark were hard-core car guys.

The information and especially one of their sources is incorrect.
And no, I do not intend to contact all webmasters and/or websites to correct all the nonsense published. That is endless.

Ok, I take it you either mean that Mr. Urban had wrong information or that they have misquoted you. I thought that as they are Swiss it could be easy for you or you might already know them. I guess I was wrong.

I did not find too much nonsense on the Ghia Aigle website, I have found most things there very interesting and fascinating, but I am of course no expert, only an eager novice but have been fortunate enough to have seen a few of their cars live. Still nice to know this car has survived, even if somewhat modified.

    Cheers,

And unfortunately, yes, I know them.

Thank you, Marcel. Last time I was in Aigle it was in Switzerland, but I guess then you say that the Ghia Aigle website is being run by people who are from elsewhere and that they have published false information. That is good to know, even if I do like the website, but yes, one can not always believe everything one reads.

    Cheers,

This was usual at that time when a guy made the panels on the left and another on the right side of the car. Vignale, for example, made often the front and the rear in one piece.

    Ed,

So give the driving impressions report. Derelict or not if it was functional I expect you terrorized the neighborhood.

Too bad. Guess you had to settle for sitting in it and going vroom-vroom yourself.

Here are a couple of shots of me in front of our house with a 550 TRC circa 1976. We did not own the car but it was on its way to Joe Marchetti in Chicago as his shippers stopped by our house to pick up my father's 330 GTS that he had just sold to Joe.

    Ideas on S/N?

Also found this shot of me with 330 LMB 4619 at a Ferrari gathering at Joe Marchetti's shop in April 1977...I didn't steal it, I promise..
