    Hi again, people!
The 512 TR is finished. Took about 9 months but I didn`t rush it.....
3 teeth on the pinion was broken. That seemed too be the main issue. The diff is intact ( but strangely that was the only part not sent back from the gearboxguy....whatch out if you see a used diff being sold out of Sweden!! hehe). Left diff cover plate had some sort of damage to it.
Thanks to turbo-Joe for the pinion and crown wheel :)
It was about 20000 euros all in all
Now I am back to doing burnouts!!! ( kidding...)

Good to hear, your car is ok.
That is odd, that only pinion was broken along with carrier.

Hi Janrbh17, please fill out your details (Right side) ... it sure helps out in communicating. :D

Great that the 512TR is up and running again !

It did take me more than 9 month ... and a little bit less money.

Glad you were able to find the parts (thanx to Romano who had one set of C&P) !

Which upgraded diff did you install ? Was that an easy or difficult job ?

I know there's been volumes written about the diff on TR's, but can someone please tell me if the gear box and diff share the same oil, in a 512TR? This is what my mechanic has told me.

    Yes.

If you trust people you do not know on the internet more than your mechanic to answer that question you are going to the wrong guy.

It's not a question at all of going to the right or wrong guy, he happens to speak Italian and is a very well respected Ferrari mechanic for over 40 years. I ask on a public forum becuase I wanted to make sure my mechanic UNDERSTOOD my question. On a side note, we both know there are a few contributors on this forum that are very knowledgeable on the subject, so I have no hesitation asking because I know who to listen to. Thanks for your reply.
