no reason to question any of this,as Joe states, the market is constantly changing, one observation after this weekend,(had my car at a small local cars, and coffe across from the Porsche dealer. Early 30 year olds ,mostly new Porsche drivers, Love Countaches, period, reg of variant, altough the poster car is the choice, wich might at some point change the throne setter,in values, These guys want their Countache, to drive, not to sit, and at some point will fork up the$ to get one. Wich variant they will pick,is anyones guess, but if i was a betting man,,i know where my money would be,

Your one of the greatest personalities on Fchat in my estimation. Keep on that FI crusade!!

And keep telling yourself that when these wealthy young minds delve deep into the variants they will choose the Americanized version.... Trust me, they know better. Every time someone talks about a carb you come flying out of the woodwork to denounce them for ZERO fundamental reason.

It reeks of jealousy just an FYI.

Not implicitly. But it sounded as though your making a reference between cars that drive reliably (FI) vs a Carb car.... which is rubbish. I can see how you could have meant in general a QV vs a LP400 but it's tough to tell with some of the posts you make.

Weekend was spectacular, don't mind my last post if I interpreted you incorrectly.

Yup, spot on, key word is qv, my oppinion, its advantage in driveability and power, wether its a well tuned carbed car,or a proper free breathing fulie, Also imo poss for the qv to pass the periscopa in value(i will always have my favorit) if and when this younger gen steps inn full time, the carb versus fi discussion, i am done with, it is what it is.

    13,000 kms

Incorrect wheels, front bumper and some wear on interior.

High bid/no sale of $270k at Auctions America this past weekend.

That car was a little rough in person. I looked at it and sat in it and, in my opinion, that high bid should have taken it home and the seller should have been ecstatic.

Actually, its not a guess at all, today's younger generation is much more informed and well-researched, as they tend to read all the material & data.

    They do their homework.

The notion that their selection of a Countrach variant will be a random thing is false.

Their desires are very variant-specific, and I think that when they become in the market for a good Countach, they will cause the values summary to become even more exaggerated in favor of the more valuable variants. I know this to be the case though my 24-year-old son who is a font of knowledge of everything automotive, and is carving out quite a name for himself in the sports car business also. His knowledge and that of his peers never ceases to amaze me.

Bear in mind that some of that generation aim to become very successful and therefore wealthy. The ones who really want a nice Countach will be able to step up.

Fits within the range of $175,000 to $350,000 I suggested for those, he should have taken the money IMO.

I think I was a little tired last night, so upon review this morning, I have made an adjustment to the S2's numbers reflecting some separation between that variant's values and those of the S3:

    LP400 - $750,000 to $1,750,000

    LP400S S1 - $450,000 to $950,000

    LP400S S2 - $400,000 to $850,000

    LP400S S3 - $350,000 to $750,000

    LP500S - $250,000 to $500,000

    LP500QV FI - $175,000 to $350,000

    LP500QV DD - $400,000 to $1,000,000

    ANNIVESARIO - $175,000 to $350,000

While I agree that there is still a strong following for the car, #Countach is sitting at 77,000 posts while #Aventador is sitting at 1,600,000 and some change.

Your illustrating the point. Theres a crap load more content about cars from today's younger generation than some give credit.

Then think about this, how many more chances do people have to take photos of Aventadors compared to a Countach?? There isn't a views counter, only "Like" which doesn't tell the whole story. In any event, there is a whole worldwide connected audience for classics. Some people say car culture is dying but 1.6m individual posts is quite a lot. Then you can go further into all the likes and comments. Thriving car culture is my point.
