Hello everyone, and a quick spec question. I have to spec my 488 Spider (UK based) next Tuesday, and I think I've fixed on white, with a few carbon parts and possibly a black roof. I am stuck on seating though. The 458 Spider I have currently has Daytona seats, but I've seen reference elsewhere to the 488 saying it should have racing seats. How do you all see it?
Go for the carbon fibre racingseats (looks and resale value) and also the Michelin MPSS tyres (free option, best tyres).
Agree with the racing seats being the way to go even if they feel somewhat under-cushioned The only thing the stock seats have going for them is being electric but that doesn't offset the lack of support on the seat base. Then there's the look...
I recently returned from a couple of track days at COTA in the 488 (and F12), and now understand why almost all posts on the subject of seats recommend the racing seats. I have the standard seats in my 458 and thought they were comfortable until I had this recent opportunity at COTA. To me, the race seats are much more comfortable, even for normal street driving. I have a 488 on order and will be changing from standard to racing seats. Jim
I would argue though that there has been continuous improvement on the standard seats (evolving to being sportier) - I have the standard seats in my 488 and I think they are OK while the standard seats of a 360 Modena looked like they had been borrowed from a BMW sedan (nothing to be ashamed of, but not very sporty). The racing seats are still better but they are not as mandatory as before.
Thanks to everyone for your constructive replies. Much appreciated. dustman, have you a clear shot of the seats - interested to see the stripe. Thanks, Mark
I'm not sold on the design of the 488, or white, but lets see. Always wanted race seats with the stripe though. Been looking at TDF's...

Finally got some nice weather this weekend and was able to enjoy my car for the first time. All I can say is the car is a beast and I am very pleased with how it looks, performs AND sounds. ( as a Scuderia owner I feel qualified to judge ).
