My Offer of $50,888 has been accepted. Bit more than I wanted to pay but all is good. It was a unanimous resolution of the Board of Directors in accepting my offer. The salesman said that the director told him his Alan Bond (meaning me) had arrived and he was not going to let me get away. Very nice of him to compliment me. The offer is subject to a satisfactory PPI. I will have my mechanics at Punchbowl do the PPI they also told me that they are factory certified to carry out a classiche certification which of course I will have done to increase the providence of this fine vehicle. Cost will be $134.95. I may also add the Power Warranty for 12 months as long it is not more than $25.00. All looking good so far.

NO I DON'T!,I'm trying to negotiate my own deal on a similar car.

Once I saw Frosty going his hardest on this ^^ one,I bailed.

I'm in the final throes of doing a direct swap for my 308 on this exciting little number( I don't think the vendor actually realises what he has in his shed).

    https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Custom-Kit-Car-1972/SSE-AD-4192893/?Cr=20

This is the MUCH rarer SWB AND I stay with the much vaunted,V8 powerplant AND most importantly....not resale red..

I haven't quite completed on this deal and your remark has unfortunately led me to show my hand.

I now hope you are not responsible of creating a gazumping situation between Frosty and myself.

You'll be cooking your own bloody prawns if this deal falls over, pal!

Mate,it's my plan to keep it for about 5 minutes...not be too greedy, flick it for a modest profit and purchase this wonderful example.

    https://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Custom-Replica-1988/OAG-AD-14014879/?Cr=17

Being left hand drive, this will now enter me onto the world stage,in regards to ultimate classic car ownership.

You really need to be a cut above the rest and try to punch above your weight in these matters.

Simon, I passed on that one as the rear spoiler and bonnet scoop are not factory originals and it doesn't have enough Ferrari stickers on it. Being factory original is very important for me but obviously for you it isn't. You do realise if you do not remove the rear spoiler and bonnet scoop you will be unable to get Classiche Certification nor have any chance of winning concorso. At least it has a manual gearbox and no red carpet so it will always be worth 50K. Good luck with the purchase and maybe we can meet up and go for a drive to McDonalds in our head turning classics.

John, I am neither whom or who. It is just me, a tifosi owner who is excited about adding this classic to my stable and felt I had to share.

For those that may be wondering, the number plate will be changed to GQ 246, I won't have enough money after the engine out service (the bugger now wants $285 for the full engine out service, originally he said $79.00, cash of course) to pay for the premium plate GQ DINO.

The extra cost for the engine service is because he said he would use the Benny Hill Engineering tensioner bearings not the plain Hill Engineering tensioner bearings. They are pricey but you pay for quality and this classic POS deserves the better quality product.

    Cheers Frosty,
I'm not too concerned re the spoiler, scoop or stickers as the V8 and manual was of more importance,in my quickish flick scenario.
I'm more into trying to access the overseas market and I believe I'm better off with a 'world' standard LHD example.
I'm probably going to have to leave the car down in western Sydney as I feel the market for a mid V8 engine classic has a better opportunity of selling, compared to up here.....pity it hasn't been converted to a ute,it'd be a shoe-in up here had it.
This being the case,I will have to give your terrific idea of a classic, mid engined car cruise a miss. Also to that, being a gluten free bloke,McDonalds are, unfortunately for me,well off the menu.Cheers.

Sorry Simon, I see past your BS, you are only passing up on the drive as you don't want to put any more Ks on the car so you can get more money for it. I can understand that but please just be honest next time. You are also forgetting that these cars will always be worth 50K no matter how many Ks on them.

Dear Frosty,I think I may have found something you may want to get your teeth around.

It may be hard to stomach at first, not being a mid-engined classic, but I'm confident it won't leave a bad taste in your mouth after you've gotten used to it.

That's what I told my GF and she said she is now used to it.

Car is not my style not into the 4 seaters. The colour is that Rosso Fiero with Giallo Throw Up. Can't tell too well from the photo if it is a triple layer paint.

Karen, I am a serious buyer, my offer has been accepted by a unanimous resolution of the Board of Directors of one. You may have missed the part that the owner is a company director. The offer is subject to PPI. Fingers crossed all goes well for me.
