    Gaetan,

I recommend you post your question/s @ appropriate venue http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/lamborghinichat-com-sponsored-cats-exotics/356564-official-countach-value-thread-248.html

I also recommend you read that thread in its entirely, if you havent already.

If you have, then you know the answers to your questions.

I'm sure you know that more than any car on the planet Countachs do not have fixed "prices", and their values are subject to many many extenuating circumstances far beyond production numbers, condition, mileage, colors, books & tools.

In short, values are very subjective, and are constantly moving.

That said, your post and your subsequent confirmation that you are looking to buy suggests a game of "tell me what I want to hear" :D

    Joe,

    Thanks for comments.
Having been through the Countach value thread i haven't really found specific answers, but i will search more there, and also post there.

    In the end what i am looking for is the point of view of the Countach community on ;
What price difference do they consider between the series (S1,S2,...)?

Forget specific cars, and let's assume we're talking about the same car (quality, history, etc). I know this doesn't exist but its for the sake of the exercise:

    For example :
    LP400S1: 800-900 KUSD
    LP400S2: 700-800 KUSD (in average 100K less than S1 = 11-12% less)
    LP400S3 : 600-700 KUSD (100K less than S2 = 12-14% less)
    5000S : 400-500 KSUD (200K less than S3 = 45-50% less)

You may want to check Haggerty values, I think they are resonably close, and they use the #'s for their insurance values.

Hagerty values can be anything from below par, to spot-on, to wildly optimistic (depending on the variant), and what a Countach can be insured for versus what it can/should bring in the market are often two numbers separated by a not inconsiderable range.

Circa 1978, in front of Gabriel Cavallari's Monaco Motors, Periscopa, Principaute De Monaco-registered 167 TT.

Could this be the Shah's 1120190 before it shipped to Teheran?

Might be as TT means Transit Temporaire, temporary transit. These are the typical plates that are affixed to cars that are going to be shipped elsewhere.

Andreas Birner, whose images these appear to be, identifies some of the images as 1976, and others as 1978.

Interestingly, it appears this car was purchased by Princess Ashraf as a present for her nephew, and it was kept in Monte Carlo for a considerable period of time before being shipped to Iran.

Andreas bought those photos from an estate. Some have a caption mentioning a year, some only a "circa-..."
The photos we've seen so far all show the car wearing Monaco TT plates, that were issued and valid for the current year only. Here it shows 1976. If 1120190 stayed in Monaco until 1978 (that I hardly believe), it would have different TT plates for 1977 and 1978.
It was indeed Princess Ashraf who ordered the car, through Monaco Motors. The story says it would be a gift to Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, for getting his driving license.

I would love to know how was it known/said 1120190 stayed in Monaco for a "considerable period of time before being shipped to Iran".

I belive it was posted in this thread earlier by someone from Iran who claimed that the car was kept in MC and actually used in the Côte d'Azur before being shipped to Teheran. As I recall, some images of the car looking well-used where posted.

US Import, Max Bobnar bought a White and a Black one in California and imported them.
The black one was officially registred, the White one never.

I have this info first Hand from Max Bobnar.

Personally he owned the candy red carbed 25th he always drove with his famous SO-303-U dealer plates, the same he used for the LP5000S Biturbo.

OK, thanks. I'll try to dig this out.
There's still some mystery about this car, though it only had a 3 years Royal History 1976-1979.

But there's more mystery on that one:
#1120002 the first production LP400, that is said to have been ordered/owned by Empress Farah Diba.
This is commonly agreed among several Lamborghini historians.
While not openly doubting this fact, I will only say I've never seen any tangible proof of such an important ownership. No photos. No documents. Maybe some people here do?

I however found 1120002 was not in original condition already back in 1978 when registered in Berlin: repainted white, with orange front blinkers (must for German-market).
The repositioned (more upfront) turning signals could mean more than just a new paint... some restoration did occur. Might have been after a crash during the 70s...

Do we know for certain #1120002 was owned by Empress Farah Diba?
