    Good day All,

To those of you that have replaced the various rubber trim pieces (around doors, windows, boot, etc), where have you purchased these rubber pieces? So far Mr. Fiat seems to be the only one advertising these items... some items are not too bad in price, but others are really, really, expensive. Superformance is a no go and the few part numbers I found seem to be NLA via Ferrari UK.

    Thanks in advance!

    Cheers,

    Sam

Sam, why is superformance a no go? do you mean not available?
they seem to be the only reasonable priced source for parts,
    Cheers Russ...

    Good day Russ,

You are correct... they do not carry any rubber trim for our cars. In fact looking at their website it would appear they only provide rubber trim for 308's.... alas...

    Cheers,

    Sam

Try Eurospares which have been one of the best for the parts I've needed.

    Good day Brian,

I did (Web) check Eurospares and their site says "Need to order, subject to availability", which in the past meant NLA. However, perhaps a direct e-mail to confirm would be better than to make an assumption on my part! I will do so and will report back.

    Cheers,

    Sam

try Steele Rubber, they are US based manufacturer / specialist,
( steelerubber.com ) ( google for products ), they have just about any profile available for most applications... while the rubber profile may not be pre formed to your car's spec ( you buy by the linear foot /length )... it is not a problem to bend / form the rubber into the shape you need...

    Sam,

Hello from Toronto. Try Cicognani Guarnizione in Italy. They are the go-to guys for this type of thing.

Cicognani - Ricambi per auto d'epoca

Cicognani are well organized and responsive but should you prefer to deal with someone Stateside, their main US distributor is Motion Products Ferrari who are absolutely a first-class operation to deal with.

Ferrari and Italian Sports Car Restorer

    Best Regards,
    Paul

    Good day Cheesy,

I have heard of Steele a while back (for an old Chevy, etc), but somehow forgot about them. I will certainly follow up!

    Thanks for the info!

    Good day Paul,

Cheers from Wintery, snowy, and very chilly Edmonton :)

Thank you for the info and link to Cicognani! Wow, they seem to be "the" place for these kinds of trim for a wide range of F-cars!

Indeed, I have heard nothing but good things about MPI. I did find an older MPI online rubber trim catalog, but were missing a few items I needed. That being said I was going to follow up with them in case case there was a new catalog.

Thanks again for the great info!

    Cheers,

    Sam

Email Claudio at Eurospares directly- forget the website.

Show him a picture of what you need and he'll usually find it for you- used or new.

He is a very good source. I have bought several seals from him and the fit is always perfect. I even got the two door surrounds which included the metal strip and fit was perfect. For the strips in a roll he always supplies some percent extra. He sources from Italy and you can tell by the packaging. The door trims are special order but only waited for about a month to come from Italy.

    Good day Ken,

Good to know and also thanks for the feedback. I dealt with Mr. Fiat last Spring and my experience was not as good as yours. Ultimately it all worked out, but it did take the payment processor to get involved and I was a bit hesitant in dealing with them again. Given your experience, I am now wondering if there were other things going on that created the problem I had? No matter, it is good to know that others had good experiences with them.

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Good day All,

Just a follow up to my original thread...

I spent a lot of time reviewing the various sites to see if any one had all of the bits I needed. Sadly, not one had it all. Cicognani was closest in that it had mostly everything except for the rear boot rubber seal. In fact Cicognani has a lot of different trim for a lot of cars and not just Ferraris. I looked through their site and reviewed a bunch of other car trims to see if I could find something close to the rear boot trim... Unfortunately, I could not. That being said, I did order most of the other pieces like the door trim, window trim, etc.

Ordering from Cicognani was painless, as their online store is well designed and they accept Paypal as payment. International Shipping was a flat rate of 80 Euro which I thought was very reasonable. Order time to ship time was 3 days with delivery about 4 days later via DHL... so about a week... which I think was excellent. The quality of the trim is excellent and looks virtually identical to my originals.

The other place I ordered some trim from was SealsDirect from the UK. All of their trim products contain detailed datasheets which really helps to ensure that the seal in question is what you want. I ordered the Engine bonnet trim, a boot seal that I thought might be a good alternative, and some trim for my Boxer (covering the upper vertical "lip" on the front bumper). Pricing was excellent and was between 2.15 GBP tp 3.59 GBP per metre ($0.81 USD to $1.36 USD per foot). Online ordering was equally easy except that shipping had to be done manually by them and so you have to wait for Seals to respond (next day) with the total. Shipping from UK to Canada (using TNT) was 30 GBP ($37.48 USD) which I also thought was very reasonable. Interestingly, TNT delivered the items to its first port in Canada (Vancouver) and then it was handed off to Fed Ex... so Fed Ex (Overnight) ultimately delivered the shipment. From the time of order to receipt it took 6 days... which I think is fantastic. The quality of the trim is excellent.

The alternative boot trim I selected will work, but the rubber is somewhat softer than the original. I will continue to search for the correct trim, but at least for now I can continue my reassembly.

Thank you all for providing all of the valuable resources for these elusive trim pieces!

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Good day Gentlemen,

    You are most welcome!

Given the age of my car it is also possible that some trim was replaced long ago with different or perhaps incorrect trim. That being said I will post up some pictures of my original trim as well as the replacements for all to see.

I may have found the boot trim at Mr. Fiat for $82 USD + shipping:

    Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 400 GT 400 Auto 400i 412 Boot Sealing Rubber - 400 GT 400 i - Ferrari - Italian Cars

I will have to compare the Mr. Fiat picture to my original to see if it is a match. If so I will order it up and then I should be relatively done with regards to the trim... well... at least the trim I decided to replace (I did not replace the front, back, or rear 1/4 window surround trim pieces).

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Good day Kurt,

I know the feeling... I am trying my best to get my 365 going for this upcoming season.. However, my BB should be ready to go very soon.

From the should of your post it looks like your projects are taking longer than you wish... but don't they all? One step at a time and they will get done!

    Cheers,

    Sam

I bought my boot seal from Mr. Fiat in late 2015 for $92, including shipping. It was an exact match to mine. It was cut the length with 4-6" excess.
