    I leave London in 24 hours for a tour of the Ferrari factory in Modena and the Maserati factory in Turin. I will be driving my 360 Modena from the UK to Modena via France, Italy, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Germany. Overall about 2,200 miles.

    The car is ready, the bags are packed, BUT, the heater/ventilation has decided to remain on most of the time, even with the key removed and the doors locked with the alarm on.
    Obviously this will drain my battery unless we can come up with a solution before I leave.

    I have tried pressing the stop button, resetting the heater/aircon system, tried a hard reset using the battery kill switch. I have even disconnected the heater/ventilation ECU, but the fan still runs (even with the ignition off and both plugs removed from the ECU!

    What might be going on?

    Bad switch or relay.

    You can try pulling the fuse from the AC unit in the interim. Looks like its in the Battery compartment at the passengers feet, fuse if farthest to the right #2 in the fuse diagrams.

    Just so that I know I'm looking in the right place; is there a resistor and a relay? I have located the "ELECTRO-BLOWER REGULATOR". Can anyone tell me where the relay is located?

    On the passenger side of the AC unit is two large plugs. One has a large wire going out of it. This will disable power to the blower in the AC unit while you find the relay if you'd like...

    I am sure I've read that the contacts in main white connector into the HVAC module can sometimes give issue. A wiggle, or removal, and even better removal and contact cleaner can sort it.

    I removed both plugs from the ecu, a white one and a yellow one, but the fan didn't stop even with both plugs removed and the key out of the ignition!

    If bad comes to worst and you are not able to resolve, use the master kill switch in the trunk when you are not using the car, obviously the alarm won't work, but at least you can lock it and be sure the battery will still be good the next day... make sure to test the mechanical trunk latch before disconnecting the master switch...

    Vvrsurgeon, thank you for the tip about the power cable on the passenger side of the heater/ac unit. The ability to disable the blower without having to turn the battery off has been very useful. If anyone else has this issue in the future it's a simple fix. My power plug has a grey surround.

    Now we need to establish what controls the power supply. I'm guessing it's a relay but there seems to be only 1 relay covering the hvac system. There is relay number 90 "A20 AC compressor " behind the passenger seat LHD car. The AC compressor is working fine though.

    Any ideas anyone? What am I missing. I'd like to be able to order a relay and have it sent to one on my stops in Italy on my road trip.

    Safe trip. Don't forget to get the highway tax card when you enter Switzerland. 40chf a pop and is valid until the end of the year (+1month).

    Maybe you'll come across my Modena as you pass through the country :)

    Now come the fun part. Diagnosing the error! I suspect it's in the ecu that you disconnected with the site and yellow plugs.

    Wow both my cars in one pic! 997 and 360! Cool. :)

    I had to swap out the final stage resistor on my 360 a couple months ago (the blower wouldn't blow at all, kind of the opposite problem!). Pro-tip: use the battery kill switch before unplugging/plugging this bad boy or you will get a little *jolt*. :/

    There might be someone with parts at that final stop of yours in Maranello. Ask around during your factory tour. :)

    Ok. I'm staying in Turin tomorrow night (for my Maserati factory tour on Tuesday). They have a Ferrari dealer there. Shall I order the heater/air on ECU from them. It looks easy to fit. Part # 204068 air on electronic control station.

    Did you change the resistor yourself? How difficult was it)
