I was told this personally by none other than Walter Wolf himself. He stated to me that as a Miura SV (5092) owner, he had asked Ubaldo Sgarzi for the first Countach, but was a little miffed to hear that Empress Farah Diba got the car. I'm simply repeating what Walter Wolf told me and I cannot corroborate this in any way shape or form. BTW, the white car imaged in Berlin looks to me like it was in Japan at some point as the circular turn-signal lights are the same as Japanese Transportation Authority mandated items for the period.
Raymond is correct. Max Bobnar owned 2 USA-spec 25th Anniversarios, the black 12038 (featured in the Ad) & the white 12587, both of which he procured from the legendary Tony Carlini in Newport Beach, California. The late Carlini owned Pacifica Lamborghini the local concessionaire for a period, as I found out when I bought his ex-Jacques Swaters 288 GTO. Here below is the other Bobnar 25th, 12587, note white wheel centers. I should say that there are at least a dozen USA 25ths resident in Europe, as sightings in the 25th Anniversario thread suggest. I just came back from a long spin on some fantastic roads! First real outing of the year. And wow, I am always impressed by this car! It is AMAZING! Every time I take it, it seems that I re-discover how great a Countach is. What a roadholding, what an engine, what a sound! Incredible. I am so happy to be fortunate enough to enjoy it. It also illustrates well how a colour like Tahiti blue changes with sun orientation. Thanks everyone! Indeed it is an amazing day. I really feel lucky. I just come back from cleaning it after this spin: a bit of brake dust on the wheels as you can imagine!
Your backyard is beautiful and perfect for fun Countach driving. My Florida backyard is more to the maritime side.
