    Indeed.

Alonso was asked by his engineer which animal he referred to.

His response: "A big one, an elephant or something like that!"

Lauda was grinning, and Wolf was smiling, because Lauda had bet him that Vettel would take pole. Cost him 10 pounds.

Team mate qualifying head to heads:

Massa vs raikkonen: 25-20 in massas favour
Bottas vs massa: 41-18 to bottas

Bottas is pretty quick in qualifying. At least as quick as Vettel.

Sources suggest the Ferrari Engine has more power than Mercedes now, these poles we are seeing are down to Lewis's superior one lap pace over most drivers, not the car.

Bottas drove a fairly measured lap and still couldn't beat Vettel who admitted he chickened out at the last corner and lost time. I feel if the Ferrari and merc drivers swapped cars we would still have the same starting lineup or thereabouts

Hahaha...now you really sound like toil did!!!
Making a comparison between Raikkonen and Bottas by comparing their stats against a Massa of 2007 and a Massa of 2016 to make a point...that is funny
Yeah right...what sources? You crystal balls? Actually poor Lewis is driving a car that has less power than the McLaren and it is all to his abilities ;)
The Mercedes is still fastest in qualy trim and these are the two tenths we see much more than the drivers difference...
That is simply speculations and I very much doubt it until proven different.
But it is funny that both Rosberg and Bottas are rated low until one asks why they gave Lewis ANY trouble at all and all of the sudden they are extraordinary quick qualifiers, basically the second bests in history :D

Huh? Who rates rosberg low he was one of my favourite drivers. Just don't see why you get soo upset whenever hamilton does well. Someone on another forum made a thread with some examples showing that bottas is a very quick qualifier so I posted them here.

    25 -20 (massa/raikkonen)
    41-18 (bottas/massa)
    59-18 (alonso/massa)
    27-15 (vettel/Kimi)

Kimi and massa went head to head when both were in their prime or thereabouts. They are both a lot slower now. Bottas did better against massa than Vettel has against Kimi and Kimi was the slower qualifier. Bottas would likely be faster than Vettel in qualifying too. As we saw today bottas lacks race pace and consistentcy

I am not upset when Lewis is doing good, I simply do not understand why people tend to make more out of it than it actually is...
Lewis was less than 2 tenths better than Bottas and people praise him for "what a lap"...A four times WDC is about as fast as Bottas in practice and you say it must be because of a superior engine...
And today race was made him easy as it was actually decided when the safety car was out as the cars are too close for Vettel to overtake 4 cars in front of him and chasing down Lewis but still some say what a great race Lewis drove. Most likely the same people talking down every start-finish victory of Seb during the RB days as not much of an achievement...It is not even to defend Seb but annoyed by these unreasonable double standards. As soon as Lewis is not sitting in a car 5 seconds faster than the rest of the field some guys behave like he did an unhuman achiechement by winning in this "dog". Put Lewis in Alonsos McLaren and look how he will do against the spaniard who gets the last out of this peice of ****, maybe then I am convinced how "great" he is...

Hamilton was in the same team as Alonso in Hamilton's first season and IIRC he did OK. Of course, it's easy being a rookie - just ask Lance Stroll.

Yes, this was his best season in my opinion and back then I actually rooted for him against Alonso...But we should not forget the circumstances and the standing of Alonso in the team, the one that cost Ron 100 Million against the foster-son!
And when Alonso and Hamilton both finished it was still Alonso who had to upper hand more often ;)
And the comparison with Lance is nonsense as absolutely nobody, not even the biggest hater of Lewis would put him on the same level as a pay driver...

    Quote from Lewis himself:
Hahaha...Eb110, if you want to keep up your point you have to disagree with Lewis himself :D
    "Obviously" :D :D :D

Bottas beat Ricciardo in the lower formulas in a spec series and Ricciardo smashed Vettel. Make of that what you will.......

While I am no great Vettel fan, Vettel is fast but often has issues getting used to a new car, hence why Weber was better than him a the beginning of the seasons back in the RB days. Weber can drive anything ...

I think Ricciardo might be one of those drivers that is quick in anything too, but maybe not the absolute quickest ... unfortunately as I am a Ricciardo fan.
