F430 year confirmation

MY08 does not have a key hole on the passenger side door.

For exact confirmation check the VIN or provide the assembly no.

 

LjT, out of interest which market are you in? , Coupe or Spider, Manual or F1

 

Ferrari changed over in August 07 making the 08 model. But the car year is based on year built. My Nov 07 build has no passenger lock and the front hood has a black plastic liner

Do RHD have year in the VIN ? I didn't think so

 

That corresponds to a 2008 model. They started making 2008s in 9/2007 with assembly #74274, according to my notes.

You do need the VIN to make sure.

 

My November 07 build is a 2007 model.

 

That's good info. What's the assembly # or serial #? I would need to update my notes.

By the way, my September 1993 348 Challenge was a 1994 car and my September (I think) 2002 360 is the last 2002 360 coupe build before they became 2003 cars. My 2001 550 Maranello was a November 2001 build so definitely not uncommon (although that was the end of 550 production and 2002 on are 575M) but I have no idea of the rhyme or reason for how the model years work in those late months. Anyways, a serial # or assembly # would be awesome.

 

I'll get it for you. I always thought it strange that it wasn't a 2008.

 

It will be considered an 07 but have all the changes that an 08 has. Some of those were eliminating a key hole on the passenger door, A plastic liner on the underside of the front hood and I think it only says 430 on the driver mirror. I was told that Ferrari makes any model changes in August when the factory is shut down on vacation. The new changes are in any cars made after August but the factory still bases the cars model year on the year it is produced

Thanks, that shows all the changes between an 07 and 08. Like I said, my car was built in Nov. 07 and has the three changes you can see

1) No key lock on passenger door

2) Plastic trip in front trunk

#) No F430 on passenger mirror

Is this list complete for all 430s - I understood production ran through 2009, so is it true there were no (material) changes in the latter of 08 and 09? And would you - or anyone - know the final assembly number? Mine is 75988 and as I have a passport I know it was built in Nov/Dec 07
