    That series "The Games" was classic Clarke satire - like when they were complaining about the shortage of money over a bottle of Grange at lunch. Oh hang on, that's normal RWV12G behaviour, isn't it? Except he was way too young to join, at 68.

    The same sketch was done on Yes Minister many years before.

    Clarke was a clever writer, but to stay employed at the ABC, he was careful to always attack from the left.

    I record and watch the 7:30 Report "Clarke & Dawes" every week, but I can't recall a satire for example on Shorten's record as a union leader, doing deals that disadvantaged low-paid workers.

    However, I'm very sad about John Clarke's passing.
