Hi all, Quick question, I removed the sniffer tubes from the rear bank because they were all broken, I put in stainless bolt with brass washers in the exhaust manifold holes, Wondering if I need to apply the anti seize bronze paste on them? Regards
Okay, I'm curious as to WHY? Because someone might want to restore to completely original condition for concours? P.S. In general I am a fan of anti-seize applied properly.
Actually went the opposite way here. Applied ultra-high-temp threadlock sealant to make sure the plugs never rattle loose and cause me an exhaust leak. Can still be mechanically broken loose with a wrench in the future if I find a fresh sniffer tube loom, but in the meantime I'd rather ensure the plugs stay put.
Anti-seize to prevent thread galling, if you ever want to get those SS fasteners back out intact again. Especially in a high heat situation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Antisieze is used on any metal prone to galling and stainless is certainly in that category. On titanium it is used copiously on every contact point for the same reason.
