hi can i put a the battery tender to the battery heads when the battery cut off switch is on position.i do not want to cut off the battery power for every time after driving i want to put battery to a tender all time.is it possible
For sure it's not a good idea to use the master switch after every drive, but if you want to put a an OEM tender on the car, the master switch has nothing to do with it. You can do it whenever you want. Keep in mind, that with every use of the master switch, the ECU "forgets" everything. As for the previous discussion - I have put an Optima 34R in my Scud and it fits perfectly.
i drive car once a month in winter because of this i close master switch otherwise battery ran out.can i use black and decker tender to the directly to the battery poles when the master switch is on.
What car do you have? I leave my Scud for 4-5 months without turning the master switch off and when I decide to use it again, it just starts... And I don't use a tender at all. However, I hope you make a difference between a tender (conditioner) and baterry charger. If you use a tender, as I said it shouldn't be a problem.
Thanks rumen,my car is 2000 modena f1.after 5 weeks battery can open doors but do not start engine.i am using black and decker battery maintainer and it charges 1 amp and when battery full it closes automaticly
Why don't you also think about changing the model of the battery? I think that an OEM battery or something like the Optima 34R will last much longer and you will probably have much less problems. The F1 on the 360 does drain it at some point though...
Interstate now has an AGM replacement for Ferraris that I just fitted into my 575M. It is the MT7-34R and comes with a 48 month free replacement warranty. About $255. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does anyone know the weight differences between the factory F430 battery and the recommended replacement options such as Interstae, Optima, or any others that F-chatters are using ? Thanks
I don't have the exact numbers, but for sure the Optima 34R was almost the same weight as the OEM one.
Interstate, Braille, and Odyssey AGM batteries in the recommended sizes all weigh between 45 and 50 lbs because of the tightly packed lead plates. One reason they all provide at least 800 CCA. No clue on the Optima since I never recommend that one, personally. Optima's website should have weights.
For sure the weight difference is nothing significant - the same as if you go for a drive before lunch or after a toilet As for the Optima 34R - it was the hardest to find here in Bulgaria, but I decided to put it just because this is what the owner's manual suggests.
Here's what I was able to pull up: Interstate MT7-34R AGM = 47 lbs. Sears Diehard Gold 34R AGM = 41 lbs. (This one is very highly rated by consumer reports magazine. Hope that helps. Dan
Just bought Interstate M7 34R battery the j hooks are too short as this battery is taller on the front where the terminals are I don't think the plate would fit over bracket even if you got the longer hooks. My car is an 05 430 coupe. Guess I'll have to return it and look for shorter battery in the front maybe the Diehard.
I bought this for my F355. It is a direct fit and weighs just under 10lbs. (not sure if it would be a direct fit on a 430) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I installed an Interstate MT5-48/H6 in my 06, with no problem. Interstate on there website is saying MT7-34R ($254-$282). I had to on the latter model put the hold down bar just up for the bottom of the Unit, because the thread rods interfered with the floor matt mount door. The most important thing is that you use a "Absorbed Glass Mat" (AGM). Not a lead acid product, the last thing you want is acid leaking out.
The Antigravity Batteries RS-20 has some interesting features, especially the 10 pound weight. The only problem I can see is the $600 retail price! Oh, my.
Took back Interstate MT7-R34. Exchanged for MT7-48/H6 crossbar was tight but got to fit put all back together and started right up but after drove around with no problems locked door and about 15 seconds after got 3 chirps from alarm. Checked all doors and bonnet but still did it after lockup? Doesn't like something but can't figure out ? Is there some code I need to enter after installing new battery?
Question first please. Is your car a 360 or F430? Trying to determine if the MT7-R34 wont fit for sure on which model as I saw another post that confirmed the MT7-R34 fits on his F430. Most likely your brand new battery is not fully charged. I highly recommend you hook up your new battery to a battery charger and dont drive your car until the battery is fully charged. Dan
It's 430 2005 coupe. Never chirped before even when battery was failing. The Interstate battery MT7-R34 would NOT fit with stock bracket unless modified or placed in a different position on the battery. I tried re closing everything on car and manipulated mode button to reset clock but still get chirps about 20 seconds after lockup and also when opening. Prior to this it just clicked and tail lights flashed when locking.
Chuck the pin switches in your doors - perhaps one got knocked as you were taking the batteries in and out? My F430 started chirping once when I picked it up from annual service. After seeing another post here on F-Chat it seems it will chirp if the doors are not closed or the pin switch is malfunctioning. After I investigated a little further, sure enough the pin switch on my passengers door had been damaged and wasn't pushing in correctly when the door was closed. The chirping went away when I replaced the switch.
