Picked it up in Phoenix and drove to Vancouver, car ran perfect, took a chance across the desert, 4hrs very hot, gage never moved, I kept tapping it thinking sometimes England gages of the past get stuck, awesome sound, lots of fun, most reliable car I've ever owned so far, saw lots of Hondas and Toyotas on the side of the road, this thing just kept going, so in my humble opinion all the gaff about Astons not being reliable is crap! I chose a 2010 DBS Volante as my choice of Astons, full Suntek PPF covered with Ceramic Pro, nothing sticks too thing, the 1600 mile drive was eventful at times however the only unpredicted problem was the low front end which when looking or pulling off the hwy at night I couldn't enter the steep slope of most stations entrance, either way this particular model seems to get much attention, most were surprised when I told them it was 7 years old, one sad note, since I never had it checked out in Scottsdale Aston, as recommended before I left ,I never put the top down, if I did and there was a problem, ie won't come up or stuck half way, would have delayed my return, as it turns out the top works perfect like everything else on this car, i'm very happy,,, PS: the color is Hammerhead Silver with Iron Ore Red interior, the only one to exist, according to Aston.

Stunning! I really want one in my garage, but prefer a manual transmission. Tough to come by and still a bit out of my price range. One day!

Beautiful car. Perhaps the most beautiful car made since the BMW Z8. Pls continue to report back. The prices make these very attractive.

it isn't or ever has been my intention to buy or invest in this car for future resale, I plan to drive the hell out of it, my local Aston dealer wants me sooner or later to trade it in for what will be the last of the true Astons, the Vanquish S, before it's Mercedeized, like the DB9 and Vantage, i'll throw the question out out there. " would you trade this beautiful machine for the last real Aston Vanquish S 2019?" all you have to do is give the dealer this car and add $285,000.00 CDN dollar, to me, the answer is no, however, you'll never get another chance to buy the last hand built Aston off the line with your colors,,

I prefer this to the Vanquish anyhow. Neither is about speed or crazy acceleration. They're both GT cars. About sound and experience and effortlessly going over 100 mph for miles on end. How's the great box?

I find it's fine for me, 1st gear's a little short, and there's no comparison to the 7sp dual clutch, however, it sounds good and of course not a race or track vehicle, just an appreciated car for most, for it's looks and beauty, no one buys an Aston for the shift change speed, I tried the 8 spd Vanquish, of course it's better but it's all relative,,

I agree. I've never really enjoyed manuals (sacrilege I know). I imagine the DBS isn't a great trans but for how the car should be used its fine.

I love the newer style aston interiors. They're doing the best in that department amongst exotics IMO.

It's a great car. You will love it. I had a 2005 DB 9 that I put 47,000 trouble free miles on. I now have a 2012 Virage that has 24,000 miles, also trouble free. Driving on the highway is like driving in an easy chair. I take it on the Track at Limerock with the AMOC and enjoy that also. Join the AMOC, they are great people. An added bonus.

Great choice, wonderful color combo, congrats!
And I get the choice of transmission too.

Although I have a full manual DB9 (and am happy with it for the typical "purist" reasons) it sure as heck ain't easy to shift quickly AND gracefully: You usually only get one of the two; it can be an "either or" situation. Hard to do both in the full manual, but I enjoy the learning curve. The fly-by-wire throttle pedal is very sensitive. In reality, I hardly ever actually drive it that hard, rather just immerse myself in the tremendous GT qualities it has.

It is. And no tactile feedback. Makes driving the manual cars a bit more challenging...but you get used to it. It is one of the things that is much better in a 550...or a DB7 for that matter. For this function, mechanical/analog is better...

That's a gorgeous car. Congrats! I'm seriously looking at Astons now. Maybe a DB9 in my future. The prices are coming in line...

    Nice car.

I'm interested to read about these cars , if I could afford another weekend toy I would get something similar. Good luck.

Buy the book "The Definitive Guide to Gaydon Era Aston Martin". A great primer on these cars...very informative...

The last hurrah of the Vanquish the S looks to be awesome. If I had the money I would be tempted to custom order one rather than go with a DB11. I don't think I would trade a DBS manual in for one though.
